I'm pleased to announce a few more changes to the Exalted Wiki, which will be able to present content to you for use in your games. The first of which is the new addition of our
Hero of the Month. The Hero of the Month is an award that shall be given to a single user on the Exalted Wiki for their contributions to the site. Nominees help the Exalted Wiki to function better and become more useful to others. Our very first Hero of the Month,
Plague of Hats, is well known on the White Wolf Exalted Forum and has been a tireless contributor to the Exalted Wiki for quite some time. He's been working to improve templates to display some of the new Excellencies, as well as posting Infernal Charms and his own Charms on the Wiki. He's been at it for years, and I would recommend that you go over to the Exalted Wiki to check out
his work. For his efforts, he is the first recipient of the Heroic Mortal award! Now as time goes on, he'll be eligible to receive the Hero of the Month award, promoting him beyond the level of Heroic Mortal, but that's for another time. Who will be the next Hero of the Month? It could possibly be you, so go on over to the Exalted Wiki and see what you can contribute! There shall be awards for Custom Charm, House Rule, Character and even Custom Artifact of the Month.
Speaking of which, the recipient of the award for Custom Artifact of the Month is Haschel, for his contribution of the Socialite's Mantle. Check it out.
Socialite's Mantle
The Socialite's Mantle was commissioned for one exemplary
Dragon-Blood named Tasida Embershine, a member of House Ragara, who, in
conjunction with his close associates, was instrumental in ousting and
putting an end to the threat posed by Mnemon Juron. Juron had made
several Infernal bargains, only to find himself on the wrong end of
Tasida's fiery hammer at the wrong time.
The Mantle itself is quite stylish, appearing to complement
almost any attire the wearer would wear, from formal party wear, to
full battle dress. It has a rustic hue when unattuned, however the
color will shift slightly to match the wearer's attire.
Aside from the cosmetic effects, the Mantle provides three major benefits:
- The wearer can utilize an effect functionally similar to the Solar charm Mastery of Small Manners (Exalted, Second Edition, Page 239) for the scene by committing three motes.
- When using the previous power, the wearer may take a Socialize
action (Misc Social action, 5/-1) to impose the first dot of an
intimacy upon (Essence) non-extras. This effect cannot be resisted, but
will invariably attract individuals who would otherwise be positively
disposed to the wearer by some means. If no such people are in the
scene, treat the wearer as instead having one extra success on all
social actions (including Social Dodges and Parries) due to stoic poise
and dignity in potentially unfriendly territory, instead of imposing an
intimacy. If this intimacy is not bolstered further, it fades at the
end of the scene, but using standard social methods to bolster the
intimacy further results in two successful and established (as they
ever become) intimacy dots, as an explicit exception to the rule on
building intimacies.
- Talented socialites must speak and listen at the same time, and
when his opponent utters an ill-timed phrase, the wearer is sure to
hear it. The wearer of this Mantle is constantly under the effects of
the Solar charm Keen Hearing Technique (the sense of Touch is
unaltered), except the range is reduced to (Essence x 10) yards.
So, if you'd like your content to be featured here on The Solar Deliberative, feel free to post it over on the Wiki, and go vote for your favorite content. I know we've seen some things happening over there from users like JiveX, AstraKiseki and more.
