White Wolf Publishing To Continue PDF Products
Note: Just wanted to drop our fans a note about a news alert that will be making the rounds to various news sites around the Internet. Since I'm posting this, it might look weird that I'm apparently talking about myself in the third person, but it's a copy-and-paste from the alert.

In light of recent announcements, some fans have expressed concern over the future of electronic (PDF) format book sales in the RPG industry. White Wolf Publishing today has announced that it currently has no plans to discontinue its existing PDF products.

“Quite the opposite,” says Eddy Webb, the Alternative Publishing Developer for White Wolf. “I believe this is a growing market with potential we haven’t yet had a chance to fully explore, both as publishers and as fans of role-playing games.” Eddy remarked that he has dozens of upcoming PDF-exclusive products on his schedule in addition to continuing to provide PDF versions of upcoming products, and that White Wolf is still actively looking into returning to the print-on-demand arena.

To celebrate White Wolf’s continuing devotion to PDF products and reward their growing, loyal fan base, the company is offering a free download of the Exalted Second Edition rulebook as well as a one-time 10% discount on the purchase of any White Wolf PDF titles through DriveThruRPG.com and RPGNow.com. Simply enter the coupon code wwlovesyou to receive the discount. Both offers expire by midnight (EST) on Sunday, April 12th.

Sorry, not interested in Exalted.  I'd be interested in a Modern Ravenloft set in 3.5e though...

setpembervirgin: WW's Ravenloft license expired years ago, and they no longer print d20 products. Sorry.

Eddy: Genius. Sheer. Genius.

May I just say-

Kudos to you guys.  Seriously.  I've enjoyed White Wolf's commitment to PDF-based distribution for a year now (rounding out my nWoD collection), and it's good to hear your commitment to it.  You will be receiving all my dollars formerly reserved for OOP TSR downloads.

Also, free and discounted stuff is NEVER unwelcome.

Oh, my God. WWP deserves to buy its products more and more.

I love White Wolf!

septembervirgin: Have you checked out Monte Cook's World of Darkness? It's pretty close to Modern Ravenloft in d20 3.5.

I have to applaud WW's actions here (once again).

Before I discovered WW games several years ago (primarily Exalted, but also the WOD lines), most of my experience with RPGs over 20 years was with D&D games.  I found myself increasingly distanced from a hobby that seemed to cater mostly to adolescents and thought I was maybe too old to keep roleplaying.  Thanks to WW for helping me realize a viable alternative to just quitting.

It's very refreshing to find a company that cares about the RPG community that supports it, as well as the vendors that support and depend upon them.  WotC seems only to care about the bottom line.  I'm glad WW sees that there's more to it than that.

Class act, Eddy and WW.

Now I just wish I had read this blog (and the coupon code) BEFORE paying for the Collection of Horrors subscription :D

Great job with the bundles, btw - the Promethean one was great. It makes sense that each Limited Line gets a sale bundle for its whole line when completed - though I've been buying C:tL as they come.

Of course, I've been meaning to be more disciplined with my PDF purchases anyway. I buy them as soon as they appear over at DriveThru, and inevitably most of them go on sale a few months later.

For idiots like me, you don't need to use the coupon to get the free download, just the discount.

Thanks for the freebies!

Man, I wish I had seen this sooner. I'm not that into Exalted, but a free book is a free book. Big Smile

Anyway, glad to hear the PDF work will continue.
