...Aaand we're back to dissing the Prequels, huh?

Well, can't say I don't agree with some of this. For instance, that Lucas should have let others direct them. According to him, however, he tried to get others to do so, but all his director friends and acquaintances wanted him to get back behind the camera and make movies directly again, so they refused. I can see one's friends doing that, but too bad that the world has to suffer for it!Wink

The story structure of the movies flows fine, but Lucas is notoriously bad when it comes to evoking good performances from his actors. That's why it was a smart move to get someone like Kasdan, a non-SF director, to do a movie...

And yeah, apparently there was supposed to be a scene in Ep III where Qui-Gon appears to Yoda, I believe it's still in the novelization. In the movie, you just see Yoda come out of meditation after the conversation is over...

As for telling Luke about Qui-Gon...Really? The kid is dying of frost bite, and you expect Ben to be so precise that he's going to explain every little detail of his training to Luke? Besides, he's trying to motivate Luke, which is better done if Luke thinks he's following in the footsteps of the Great Hero he's emulating...Remember, we're talking about Mr. "Point of View" when it comes to the Truth, here...

Really, the prequels were nowhere near as bad as fandom likes to make out. I've got both sets of films on DVD, and find myself watching the prequels more often than the originals, recently. Many of the flaws folks love to complain about in the prequels are also there in the originals, believe me...

Well, I guess I should just spread it. It is only a matter of time before you see it from elsewhere anyway.

Equally Awesome, tho in a different way!Smile

In fact, this reminds me, a friend of mine is surprised that there doesn't seem to be much Geek Porn on the internet involving naked babes done up like SW & ST aliens...Anyone know of any?

And an understandable one. I just dislike a lot of what I hear about it, is all...

On another note, there's a new series of novels in the offering. Pretty quick after the last one, Legacy of the Jedi, just ended. Unfortunately, it's taking the same form, three rotating authors for nine books. The story of the last one was decent enough, but you could practically *taste* the padding as they stretched out what should have been a six-book series, at most. At times, it felt like being in one of those games where the GM moves heaven and earth to let his favorite villain escape comeuppance...Hopefully, this one will be shorter or have more story requiring that length, if not...

I do like how they're tying the books into the Legacy comics, so that we can actually see the future shown there coming into being in "present day" SW...

I haven't read a Star Wars novel is years because of that. I can't afford to keep up with stories like that...

I miss the days when they might do a trilogy or 2, and then some one-shots...

Well, they are finally coming out with more FX Lightsabers, Here are two that are about to come out:

Yeah, just tried them myself, at least you are able to navigate the site to find them.

respectively, they are Count Dooku's and Obi Wan's Padawan lightsabre.

Yeah, I've liked Dooku's since I saw it in Ep. II.  I will have that sabre!!!

I also like Obi Wan's Padawan sabre, I just like it better than the one he replaced it with, though I have that one as well, I'll get this one as well, but definatly after Dooku's, now if they'll make Vader's from Ep. VI, I'll be the happiest Sith in the galaxy.

Yeah, I can't view the links either.

But I agree, I'd rather have Palpatine's saber. Just like everything else about him, his saber was my favorite.

I wasn't big on Palps saber. It was ok...but looked alot like wood to me. I would have preferred something darker...

But, it wasn't bad...
