Hey everyone, I'm currently working on an NPC for a vampire game who is redeemed (And later embraced). To help me flesh out his background, I'm creating him as a Promethean and going forward. I'm saying that his pilgrimage took him approximately 100 years.

In this case, I'm not too worried about making him overpowered as a promethean because he's going to become significantly weaker prior to entering the story anyway.

Anyway, my question is how much Vitriol should I expect him to receive over the course of his pilgrimage? Or should I already consider this to be included in the amount of experience suggested for experienced characters.

I don't know the answer, but maybe the question I have in mind will be helpful to you: Since Vitriol seems to serve exactly the same purpose as Arcane XP does for magi, is there a chart of Arcane XP For Experienced Characters you could perhaps reference and rip off?

Time to crack open another book!

No such luck.

I'll just have to write up a number of milestones that are appropriate and assign them a value. I'm thinking 10-15 milestones might be appropriate. He spent a good amount of his pilgrimage collecting books for his inevitable loss of memory and might have delayed the new dawn despite not having many milestones left.

The real fun part is that he gets killed (embraced) before he gets to read too much of his own library.

bah, some asshat has gone around voting 1 on all the promethean threads ¬¬.

And 40 would probably be a minimum, 100 a maximum.

They've been doing that on a variety of threads. Check out the OWOD forums.

Thanks. I set up the milestones and ended up at about 50. Ironically, I spend most of it on transmutations to justify his habit of stealing books from other supers (they don't catch up to him until he's human).

Then I busted out a vampire sheet and tossed out all those lovely transmutations he'd need to accomplish those tasks. I was surprised how close he was to a starting character even after I dumped 120 experience and 50 vitriol into him.

He'd actually make a decent Promethean antagonist as well since he's still trying to become human and is preying on Prometheans in an effort to do so. I might post the final results on this forum if anyone wants to steal and recycle him.

He's sort of a sad little bugger in that he's trying to steal transcendence, but is really only inhibiting the pilgrimages of others. I even gave him a custom coil that is either overpowered, underpowered, or provides major benefits at a major cost. The end result is a vampire who resembles a promethean mechanically, but has little or no actual potential to transcend (His coil doesn't allow him to reach milestones).
