If possible I'd like to jin as well, but I can understand if things are getting crowded now.

Masqueofcrump:
wo months ago, in Dallas, a very foolish motley of changelings made a pact with a group of mages.  They handed over their fetches for study in exchange for memories of the time that they had missed, so that they would be able to slip back into their old lives.  The Sorcerers upheld their end of the bargain, but sorcerers being sorcerers, they were far from content to settle at that.  After several weeks of tinkering, they created a dark and craven ritual: at midnight, during the witching hour, the fetch could be sacrificed in order to bind it's changeling, should he or she be within the world of man, into forced servitude.

This is a very neat idea.

Masqueofcrump:
The Court's Diplomacy
When the Courts of the city discovered what was happening, they quickly attempted to open diplomatic channels with the local concilium, but their efforts were for naught.  The mages were haughty and arrogant, and presumed to lecture the changelings on the reality of their "condition", making the extent of their ambitions of using the changelings as guides to find and reclaim "their" Arcadia.  The Courts then set about preparing for war, having all of their members retreat into the Hedge, save a few crafty spies and observers.

You might want to skip the diplomatic attempts. The changelings would more likely threaten war, rather than offer peace, because they were already at peace. Besides, the mages have broken an agreement. Rather than give back the changeling's memories, they enslaved them. Breaking an agreement is a huge deal to the changelings and it proves that you already cannot be trusted, and trust is a key factor to diplomacy. Once that's out the window, it's already war.

You don't need to make the changelings more sympathetic by showing that they will choose the route of peace. Having someone enslave their fellows already gives them the moral high ground.

@ Arcane: so long as no one else minds a Mage PC, I'm all for it, although it's a big game and I'll be doing a lot of juggling of splats as it is, so you may need to pick up the slack occasionally regarding rules.

@Patroclus & Apocrypha: I don't mind you guys joining.  I'm used to running big games (IRL group of 6 players, one ST), and the type of game we're playing suits it, so as long as everyone is okay with it I am too.

@Mister Knightshade:  Thanks.  And yeah, I had thought of that too.  But then I thought I would play up the theme of decadence in the mages: the courts have worked with the consilium previously and found them to be reasonable in the past.  However, the ritual a few months ago undermined it's structure and resulted in a mad power grab within the pentacle mages' society, resulting in a loss of central authority.

Technically, they actually didn't break the agreement.  They did restore the changelings' memories.  The just didn't say they'd  also take advantage of the circumstances involved in doing so.  Which is a dick move, but changelings are no strangers to people abusing the spirit of a contract while abiding by its letter.  It is a good reason to fight though.  I do see a reason why they'd try diplomacy first though.  They'd want to be sure that these hostile actions were sanctioned by the Consillium rather than just something perpetrated by a few rogue mages.  Wouldn't want to start a war with all the local orders if it turned out to be the latter.

Cool.  I'll try to writeup the character and get it to you as soon as I can.

A list of which books and which rules (the optional ones and such) are being used would be great. Also I am interested in signing up.

For changelings, the core is in, as are the majority of Winter Masques and Rites of Spring (yep, goblin pledges).  If you want to pull something from Equinox Road or Lords of Summer, you can run it by me and I'll probably approve it (those are the two I don't have access to at the moment, as they are at my friend's house).  Autumn Nightmare rules are being used with the Fetches.  Nothing is explicitly forbidden per se, but if you're doing something off the wall please run it by me first.

For mage, just don't bring in anything crazy broken and we're good, as I haven't read as widely through the mage sourcebooks.

There are multiple versions of Dual Kith, which is being used? (Winter Masques or Rites of Spring?) I did the, I accounted for it the most costly and restrictive of the ways possible both with character creation with two Wyrd and paid three merit points, and if it is the less expensive version. I like my accounting to error on the side of caution.

I'm using the rites of spring version, since it makes the most sense to me.  Sort of.
