Can a packs totem be summoned? Bound? Forced into a fetish? Is it possible to hold a packs totem hostage?

Blame it on the Vi-Vi-Vi-Vi-Vi-Vitriol.

Yes.Yes. and Yes.

Totem spirits aren't any more resistant to the rites then any other spirit. They tend to be a little bit more powerful (a totem spirit starts out at Rank 3 i think... but i don't have my books on me.), and thus resistant, but beyond the ability to call out to a pack of werewolves, being a totem doesn't give you any special advantage against being bound or summoned.

In fact, there are some packs that actively hunt down their totem and bind it against it's will as the pack totem. So... perhaps if you don't allow a spirit to be subject to multiple bindings that might provide some protection.

The book contradicts itself and says they start as Greater Gafflings, but then goes to say they have 9 points to distribute to attributes.  Greater Gafflings have 7 points and are rank 2- Lesser Jagglings are rank 3 and have 9 attribute points.  I'd personally go with the Lesser Jaggling, especially since it mentions the 9 attribute points in multiple places

The fluff talks about strong bonds that bind the totem to the pack in a sence making them a fetter- the totem can exist in twilight without using essence so long as it's near the pack.  I can't find anything specfic though that talks about the rite that actually creates this bond or any bonuses it would give.

Assuming I'm correct, it would be possible to summon and theoretically bind the totem, just as Qcks says.  Aside from the pack of angry wolves, I'd personally give the spirit some sort of bonus to the resistance roll- something associated with totem points it had to represent the idea that the new binding/summoning has to overcome the existing bond.

When the totem is summoned it may choose to discorporate (its the one numina all the totems get.) This will leave a pack without patron or totemic bonuses, but at least the totem wont be coherced to surender vital information about his spiritual sons and daughters.

My book says the one numina they all get is Material Vision.

Damn, thats right! Think of it, my previous statement would only be valid for apocalypse (their totems got something similar to discorporation if my mind isnt playing tricks on me)

I have a question.

If the totem spirit is bound then what happens to the pack connection? Does it still exist or does the pack become disconnected. Would the connection become co-opted or would that be a plot idea for an ST?

I think it would depend 100% on what you wanted to do as an ST.  I'd rule the connection would remain, unless someone used a ritual to sever the bond.  But even then I'd figure severing the spirit bond would have a limited effect, as the pact between the Forsaken and the Totem isn't only based on a rite (in many cases, anyhow).

one of the conditions (or a blatant lie) for a bound spirit could be "sever your son's bond and you will be free".
