I have an idea for a story involving a mobile locus, but I don't know if i should. The manual says you can create a locus around an object or a person, but if you pour essence into a bus, does it move around if you drive it?

What's the size for such a locus? Can it be a living thing? What do you think?

Nothing wrong with a little creativity and messing with the assumptions of the settings. I'd say go for it. There are mobile loci and there are living loci (and Wounds and Shoals and Glades, even). All of these things are covered in in Lore of the Forsaken, although there's not really much to cover.

A bus can be any size of locus, depending no its spiritual strength. Consider, though, that the more powerful it is, the more attention it will attract.

By my interpretation yes, since it is possible for objects and people to be loci, then logically they should be mobile.  Are they terribly common perhaps?  No, probably not, but White Wolf felt it a reasonable enough scenario to make mention of it at least in passing.

As Christian A said, depends, perhaps the locus is the second to last seat on the back left, where a boy rode for years on end, plotting various wicked deeds on his schoolmates, now the seat has a resonance of Cunning and Torture.  Or maybe the bus is a public transit bus that has the horrible luck of always picking up criminals intent on robbing the passengers, or harming them in some way.  Now the entire bus is laden with Fear and Anxiety resonance.  The first example would be just a rank 1,2 locus given the size of the source, whereas the second version could be much higher.

I don't think so?  Not in the spiritual sense of an awakened object and its spirit reflection.  I never got the impression that loci behaved like that, they were a spiritual wellspring that attracted spirits, but not a spirit unto themselves.  I could be wrong of course, and you are of course free to tweak that if it fits your story, but by the canon, my money is on "no".

Could be fun, definately think long and hard about what caused the locus to form in the first place, and what type resonance it fosters.

Lore does bring up some points worth mentioning, such as the mixed blessings of a mobile loci and the effect it can have on your game (system-wise and thematically), and points out that idigam apparently prize living loci.

As for it's area of effect, Lore suggests you reduce the area to 1-3 feet per dot or less to make the loci more usable (so that everyone and their mother isn't trying to steal it from you whenever you meet any other spiritual creature) and make it so that the characters have to keep it on their person at all times to be useful (hmmm, would a loci object count as being dedicated, or would it simply exist on both sides of the gauntlet and you'd have to make sure you put it back into your pocket when you crossed over?)

If I recall correctly, it is very hard for a mobile locus to grow in rank because the pooled essence doesn't travel with it. I think just about everything else has been mentioned.

I think you should go for it, I like your idea. It certainly supports the concept of a nomadic werewolf pack. How big, well, if its mobile it probably shouldn't be too big. I dont think it can be a living thing, but I could be wrong.

I say make the rules fit the concept of your game.

You are!  :)

There is mention in Lore of the Forsaken, and I think the corebook(?) about loci that are living beings.  They are uncommon to be sure, but they do exist in the RAW
