Yes, but they have to go to the wastes for their Azoth to lower. It's said that their Azoth can consume the pyre that is their body.

No. Going to the wastes stops the clock, it doesn't make it run backwards. All prometheans have a finite amount of time with which to achieve mortality before the Pyros within them fizzles out. The one exception to this is the Progenitors, who are basically immortal. Though almost all of them are believed to have been killed or achieved mortality. The only known active Progenitors are Verney (Frankenstein's monster) and the apocryphal Nuclear Promethean.

I challenge ye, but my book is across the room so I must scede the floor to you.

But be warned, someday my rollie chair will roll freely to that book, and you'll be in for a rude awakening.

PtC p164:
When a Promethean goes to the wastes, retreating from the world, his aging clock reverses as he loses Azoth dots. Some say that it is through this method that Victor Frankenstein’s monster, the Progenitor of the Wretched Lineage, still lives.

Yes, Prometheans are effectively immortal like Vampires and third tier Geister.

Well, you're right that they can't reverse the clock, but nothing stops them from sacrificing more pyros in the wastelands at a later date, as long as they have more pyros to sacrifice.  The Osiran's resurrection power can also be used to add time, and again over and over as long as the promethean has more pyros to sacrifice.

And actually there are some who believe that all the progenitors are still active, that every progenitor is innately immortal, as opposed to just conditionally immortal.

Personally, I wish that prometheans were innately immortal, a mummy effectively dying of old age just seems weird to me.

Don't think of it as dying of old age, think of it as a construct that breaks down or runs out of fuel. Or you might think of it as an unnatural phenomenon that is ultimately purged from the world like the infection it is.

Well, you're right that they can't reverse the clock,
Wrong.   Lets look at the quote from the book I just made.

Emphasis mine.   How much more specific do you need it to be?    As long as they continually go to the wastes, Prommies can live for a very long time.

and without doing so they have ~ the same life expectancy of a werewolf about 100 years or so

Meh- all three of the undead major templates have a required "torpor" period in order to remain "immortal."   Vamps have the original torpor, Prommies the wasteland, Geister their Underworld trips.

Point remains - Prommies can theoretically be on the pilgrimage for millions of years.   Exactly what the OP asked.

I don't know, how much more worked up can you get over a stupid arguement over meaningless semantics?  :)

Or did you not read my post well enough to realize that I was agreeing that prometheans are conditionally immortal?

Blunt Vorpal doesn't really look worked up there. He's just correcting you.

Antagonistic posts don't really accomplish anything unless you are trying to start a flame war.
