By that interpretation, about 90% of Creation's residents would be female. That provides interesting possibilities.

And an easy explanation for the lack of heteronormativity.

Someone needs to do that for one of their games, would be even funnier if they didn't tell the players this in advance.
<Bastet> Now I imagine all of Creation's swearwords were once the names of people who annoyed linguistics heavy FA Solars.

I miss the first three times, but manage to hit out of sheer luck on the fourth time. On my fifth attack, do I still have the retry penalty?

No.  The penalty goes away.

It is more a personal annoyance when people toss around RAW for their reasoning when it doesn't hold up.  Everyone told you its not supposed to be that way.

But that is how it is in the book, which is what I was using for um...the rules.

BogMod:
Rather then just digging your heels in, which just makes some of us try harder, you could have made your point why you thought it was the way it was then listened to the people who were trying to explain it wasn't that way.

That's kinda what I did.  I was annoyed that it was left out and implied in such a way that I would never know otherwise, but I do accept that the retry rule isn't supposed to apply to combat.  RAW, it does.  But RAW, there are plenty of things in this game that we ignore near universally.

IMO: The most "logical" thing you did about that whole rule was making it so that aim actions refreshed the penalty, which was a pretty innovative way of handling it that isn't in the RAW.

I read it and figured it could be abused, but at least added a little something to the game (stop repeating failed attempts just hoping the dice will be better to you) so I should find a way to make it fit.

Look, I disagree.  That's all there is to it.

That's about normal for a game I'm running, or at least my players joke about it being so.

Heh, I'd be more amused if the bottleneck created by the Contagion created a race of "non-standard" sexed individuals... "Ewww, you're ONLY male? That's so... Contagion of you."
Faith untested is the weakest of them all.

I fail to see the problem.

What's Creation's population, about 10 billion?  So that'd be 9 billion women.  And if the average vagina is about six inches deep, that means there is 852,272 miles of pussy in Creation.  I think it would be a nice place to visit.

Edit: the wife looking over my shoulder informs me that should I vacation to Creation, I still only get to use her six inches.  I think I should of had an "alternate fantasy universes" clause in our marriage contract...

... and I thought *I* calculated weird numbers...

So long as someone has a (foolish) right to describe their attack exactly same way they described it before then the retry penalty has a place in combat.

Couldn't disagree, IMHO the only drawback of describing the same attack twice is the diminishing stunt dice you get rewarded!
Plot is the rice paper against which players test their goremauls.

Huh, terrible wording on my last post's edit.  Let me fix.

Except the book says in the combat section that the difficulty of an attack is 1.  You can successfully attack without successfully hitting.  Can you swing a sword?  Yes, good no penalty.  The only way you could normally tell if an action succeeds is by if you beat the difficulty.  The part that mentions a difficulty says its set at 1.  You only took the RAW part way.

Its just important people that are 90% women.  Who knows about random window dressing.
