Forgive me if this is a bit long.
In the Mage: the Awakening game I'm running, I'm planning to use the theme of "magic vs technology" and really tear into it with the Free Council, with techgnostic legacies, with some really interesting Astral Realms based on technological themes, even the Unfleshed from Promethean (Saturnine Nights).
One of these ideas is to have some HyperTech show up. Saturnine Nights has some general guidelines on using HyperTech in a horror setting like WOD, which is helpful. The tech is going to be in the hands of shadowy folks on all sides of the ethical fence. It will be secret, it will be dangerous, it will not be the focus of the game.
However, we live in the age of "Iron Man" on the big screen, "Fringe" on TV, and all sorts of super-tech in fiction. So, any use of HyperTech has to be looked at from that perspective too. I don't want to just copy Fringe and stay totally grounded. There's a group of NPC's in the game that believes anything magic can do, they can do with tech. And thematically, I want to explore that for a while. But that leaves me wondering what sorts of tech would be evocative and cool and interesting VS tech that is too ketch, cute, or too far outside the realm of the WOD. Obviously no Gundams or Voltron, but would a "ray gun" or a way to make a man fly (similar to Telekinetic Strike or Flight spells from Forces mechanistically) be too far?
So, I throw it out to you....I'm looking for the thoughts of other folks on what sorts of technology would be good vs "too much" for exploring this theme, as well as any other ideas you want to share. Any and all advice welcome.

Also - the Hunter conspiracy Task Force Valkyrie has access to technology that's highly advanced. I suggest taking a glance at that one.
