TheDude: Sojko:That's probably John Mørke, no ? AKA Hatewheel, if memory serves. In which case. Hatewheel, you sir, win
Sojko:That's probably John Mørke, no ? AKA Hatewheel, if memory serves.
hatewheel:Yup, I am John Mørke. Yeah, it was a plain old mortal. And thank you much for that. It was probably the crowning detail of my Sun writeup, although I am very proud of Observances, which Odd_Canuck has mentioned, and I am also very fond of Nysela and Little Beam, although I don't know which I like more. Probably Nysela.
Jefepato: Sojko:I'm not so enthusiast about the high essence ones, though. World-Scarring Solar Glory (the famous Kukla slaying charm) and it's mirror Creation-Slaying Oblivion kick, huh, sorry, I meant Creation-Slaying Holocaust Blade (it has my vote for coolest charm name in Exalted) are pathetically weak at first. They are Essence 6 charms that are weaker than F&S Strike, how about that for overcharged useless charm. Especially funny when one notice that the only real use for this charm is to reduc damage to avoid killing the opponent, very ironic given the name. I'm pretty sure you're wrong about this. If you use WSSG and your dice of damage exceed your opponent's maximum health levels, you can do as few or as many levels of damage as you want. Unless I'm deeply confused, this means if you get enough dice, you can as easily autokill them as spare them.

Odd_Canuck:Just as a question to Holden or whomever wrote up the charms (I'm still reading through these) you *do* realize that with a single essence 3 charm, ARMOR-SHATTERING STRIKE, you have turned my future games into something highly disturbing? Clothing can be argued to be very low end armor. Combine that thought with the effects of the charm.
Holden: just as planned...
Holden:just as planned...
Sojko: Holden: just as planned...Urrrg, now I can't unsee Yagami Light using his abilities to strip people everywhere. it is very disturbing. I am going to go look for some brain soap now. And when I'm out, can you adress any other of my points ? I very much hope I'm wrong about all of this, just as with this line I misread.
Odd_Canuck: Holden:just as planned... Fortunately my brain has a built in erase/reset button, so I can endure it. As a side question, is the Solar charm in "SECRETS OF THE UNCONQUERED SUN" (the book uses caps so I do the same) supposed to be a deep secret charm that takes serious plot development to research, or just a charm that's so ass-kicking cool it doesn't go with the other Solar charms that got added?
Sojko:NOTA : the big "bad" (actually a "good" guy, but they don't care) solar at the end of my DB campaign will have Glory to the Most High + Final Ray of Light.
Immortal Blade Triumphant is much much worse. It has the nice effect of removing the Death Lords' invincibility, but it is pretty useless as a charm. It's made almost obsolete by the protection of Celestial Bliss, that will allow 7 perfect defense (for cheaper) that recharge each time you use HGD and are at full powered, unlike IBT that gives 14 PD that go for full cost, and only after activating a very expensive non combo-able charm (and a speed 7 action that kicks your DV in the nuts and steal its lunch money preventing you from attacking, too). Perfect Defenses that can't be used to protect you when you reset your defense. I can't see a serious fighter using this charm, it looks like a "please kill me now and end my suffering please".
Irked:Very surprised not to see any "vanilla" tick- or action-long defenses in this one. Dodge gets one, but with some odd restrictions. Not displeased, per se, because I can write one myself... but surprised.
On the whole, a masterful job.
