I like to roleplay a lot, but sometimes rolling dice is just so satisfying. I like how White Wolf games find a nice balance between arguments over the justice of killing ghosts and rolling 10.

To that end, I enjoy number crunching.

I found that of all the Antagonists one could build for G:tSE, the Kerberoi were a bit confusing... their powers varied widely, and while 6+ rivers is supposed to be handled through fiat alone, sometimes it's just nice to have a massive final boss, so to speak.

So I built this.

It's a spreadsheet with a series of algorithms to instantly generate a Kerberos. All you do is put in the number of rivers and decide the attribute hierarchy, and then you can generate to your heart's content. It also estimates beyond 6 rivers, for those of you brave enough to venture deep.

I know a lot of people won't need this - a ST I play with can generate a full SE character in less than 30 seconds. But for those interested, it does make it nice and simple, allowing you a chance to focus on the story and flavour of your cuddly hulking Underworld denizen.

Instructions are attached.
If anyone can ever think of any other character/antagonist/etc/etc generators they might like, feel free to ask, I whipped this thing up pretty quick and I like fiddling with numbers.

This would come in pretty handy for spur of the moment trips into the Underworld, or when your players won't listen to "Your Psyche will not allow you to pass--The blood is creeping up your body, you can hear the snarling and hissing of its anger" and they bust out a "Then I call the Ferryman".

Of course, I think that "Final" bosses would have to be more on the level of lesser deathlords or Chthonians, though.

Is this only for Open Office? Because it doesn't work in Excel 2003.

Point Rand isn't working, so I'm getting #NAME? for many of the other calculation cells.

Crud. Made it an .xls, but I guess there are still errors...
I'll see if I can figure out why.
Point Rand is just '=RANDBETWEEN(0;1)', which I use without error in several other places...

EDIT: Here's an unlocked cell version (text is still locked just to keep my name in there).

See how that goes.

Randbetween is a function only available in the Analysis ToolPak add-in for Excel. With a locked spreadsheet, there's no way to include that add-in if it hasn't been added already.

Excel's rand() function generates numbers between 0 and 1; if you want integers between X and Y; all randbetween really does is offer a shiny frontend to int(rand()*(Y-X))+X

Same problem. Thanks for trying, though.
