Heaven-And-Earth Stairway, from Arms of the Unconquered Sun Style.

Every time I see the name of that Charm, the words "And she's buying a" somehow magically append themselves in front of it.
I'll have you know I'm actually enormously fond of Freak Legion. Having the most enjoyable chargen system until Aberrant came along helped. - Holden, somehow expressing my opinion on Aberrant without ever having met me

The fact that Mercury hikes up her skirt while she climbs her ladder and defying gravity made me laugh.

Paraphrase: "The Unconquered Sun is incapable of learning any Sidereal styles, nor is he interested in doing so.  He has difficulty imagining he is missing anything important."

There are two possible translations of this idea, but I prefer the one that screams, "FUCK YOU, RAINBOW-BOYS!"
"Your busted, tired dance moves are no match for my security protocols."
"One thing you don't know about me, my dear: My Ph.D is...in...dance!"

I found the twin meaning to be pretty clever and funny.
Unfortunately, the best we had the opportunity to do was perform triage on the Deathlord Issue by way of firing gauze and surgical tools at it out of a bow from down the street. - Holden Shearer, about fixing the Deathlords' write up in GotMH

The Fact that the Maidens' Samsara with the UCS seems to literally be "Reenact harem anime tropes"

Oh?

Venus"Lets marry the Unconquered Sun"

2 days later

Saturn "I called it off"

maybe not tropes per se but it feels very harem anime.

The whole Becoming mroe human and growing a heart from being cold robot girls(trope not literally) to more humane and loving types thanks to interaction with their Chosen and the other Incarna.

Saturn being upset that she feels things for people.

I can definately see these things being played Tragic.. but I can see also where they came from in comedic elements.

Keep in mind that being more human isn't necessarily all positive and life-affirming. Being more human lets them deviate from their creepy robot spider-sister template in order to be selfish, and this has had massive repercussions for Creation.

I'm still laughing at the UCS, because I can't shake the vision of his internal conversations:
Chibi Compassion UCS on one shoulder
Chibi Conviction UCS on the opposite shoulder
Chibi Temperance UCS on another shoulder
Chibi Valour UCS on opposite shoulder

All of them telling him what to do at cross purposes and fighting each other until one or more of them tie the others up and gag them so he can only hear thier opinion. Kinda like the angel and demon versions of Cartoon characters only in this case its the virtue versions of the UCS.

And the mice of the sun have that Charm that lets them know what the Unconquered Sun would want them to do in whatever situation they're in.

Those poor confused little bastards.

And this is why they have to consult samsara raher than passively receiving visions. They can always choose not to know something and threby act with greater autonomy. Or they can know and be bound by what they know. When the Maidens choose not to know out of human selfishness, all of reality suffers for it.

I am not saying it couldn't potentially lead to tragedy or being monsterous entities. Just that it amuses me that they seem to afflicted by various tropes.

Must it suffer?  Is samsara necessarily the "best" path?

It is not that. It is that the way the Maidens avoid the collar of samsara is to indulge in irresponsibility, which in turn is bad for the world since they have the job of making the universe keep going.

I know it seems comical, but every time I read it, and even as I wrote it, I was somehow disturbed, if not creeped out, by the image.
