It had quite slipped my mind, what with them in the picture with all those students...

half of these pictures make it appear that there are constantly parties in the streets over there

For thou art not so...

It's just because of the three-day school festival. All these pictures were taken on campus, and things will be back to normal come Thursday. Mordwyr will be back in the classroom, lecturing on musicals and Greek gods.

Mordwyr had a long break between some of his weddings, so we went down to the seaside (he was working nearby) and had a nice date!
Basically, this is the bridge that connects Tokyo and Yokohama. It's called
Rainbow Bridge
. The city beyond is part of Tokyo.
If you look between the buildings, you'll see a white blob. Yes? That's not a cloud; it's the snowy top of Mt. Fuji.
The view from our seaside restaurant. I had a steak; Mordwyr had grilled chicken.
Fuji TV.
Old style Japanese boat for parties.
???
We rode the Ferris wheel nearby.
These dogs stood on their hind legs and raised their forelegs in the air when their master said, "Banzai!"

I had to go to the licensing branch office today to renew my driver's license. They have one branch per prefecture! WTF?? Anyway, it was packed, even though it was a working day.
Because this is my first renewal, I had to sit through a two-hour lecture....ridiculous, since I've been driving for 19 years!! But in the end, I got a nifty case. *raspberry*

What the hell? Every year when students make these signs for the school festival, they always add the R. I have failed them!

Well I just learned that when you say stuff like
"I ruv you rong time!"
It's not just an offensive caricature it's also apparently true.

At least in Japan, I think. It's the スモーキング rendered back into roman letters.

At Shibuya station (kick-ass cool center of Tokyo) I saw an advertisement for
Inglorious Bastards
, and this notice was attached at the bottom next to Tarantino's face:
It reads that if you don't like the movie, they'll give you your money back. And the small print says that you have to fill out a shitload of forms to get it back, though...
