Question on Spartoi followers and errata

One of my players is getting some Spartoi per the Dragon's Teeth relic and we are a bit confused.  The spartoi are based on standard grunts with some slight mods, but still possess an intelligence of 2, standard human norm.  However, as the Hero's legend grows, so does their Intelligence grow...
The description though indicates they possess very low intelligence and can be tricked fairly easy no matter the Hero's power.  Seems this is quite a contradiction.  Shouldn't their intelligence be about a 1 always while their fighting prowess increases as the Hero's legend grows?

Also, has the errata been updated in recent months for any and all Scion books?

Followers don't get more powerful as the hero gains legend.

For Spartoi, there is a blurb in there that indicates Spartoi intelligence will equal the summoning Hero's legend score, thus making them smarter.

How strange.  Had read it before I posted but glazed over that bit.

Their int grows, but their wits do not. 
Although the int on legend 12 intelligent god's spartoi would be impressive. 

It just seems strange that Spartoi are and will always be fairly stupid unless given really specific instructions (and can probably still be tricked rather easily by clever opponents) and yet they can have genius-like IQ's when summoned by a powerful Hero.  Unless there is some errata or a really good explanation somewhere, I think I will houserule that something more combat related is equal to the Hero's legend or something as Spartoi are supposed to be really dangerous combatants.

I don't suppose the good Baron (Samedi) has done any errata up, or given his view on this?

Making their combat stats grow with legend is difficult because it would make them by far the most powerful follower in the game. 
Unless you stat up some house rules to make all followers grow with legend. 
If anything you should just take out the bit where their int grows with legend
