UPDATE and A call for Opinions (more?!)
Hey there folks, I have a new thing to show you guys - another prop that is making through the History channel - mean, chapter.
As usual, your suggestions and critiques are very welcome and helpful on the whole thing.
Prop #2 - Letter to the Fort
Now, I need an opinion about something related to the vampire background of my city. You guys know, Brazil is a fairly "new" country when compared to European nations; and, Rio has the fame of being a city of mixtures (of classes, of culture, etc). Also lets remember that, as I said, the chronicle has a somewhat "high-stakes" vibe where the point (and one of the differentials) is that you deal directly with some big figures.
Having all that in mind, I actively avoided some things such as extremely old and/or extremely low generation NPCs on my chronicle. Anyone who played a long
Vampire
chronicle knows that activity eventually makes for the weird scenario where the players neonates have an ammount of statistics that can rival with older vampires, and I designed most of my "cast" that way.
There are, of course, vampires that drag from the Portuguese
reconquista
, other who are as old as the first expeditions from Portugal in Brazil (circa 1500); however these are exceptions that confirm the rule of most of the NPCs, including some primogen, being embraced in the city after its solidification (circa 1700~1800). I just hate hate
hate
over-the-top stuff like "o hai this greek legend is a vampire like you... cept he dated his antediluvian and can eat u five times over if you accidentally even think of crossing him".
Do you guys think it might interfere negatively with how smooth things go?
Example, one of my favorite characters (which I will reveal in a future update) seems pretty disturbing, fits the vampire myth and the earlier Brazilian folk lore, and becomes the Primogen of a clan. She is however a 9th gen vampire, with around two centuries of existance. Personally I could care less, the character herself is interesting and anything with two hundred years of a blood diet is a potential freakshow in my view... but I still would like to know how you people receive this.
So go ahead friends, give me some feedback on both the prop, and the matter above, and I'll love you long time.

(you guys can still be awesome and opinate on what I asked, the prop I posted is not related to the issue).

Update!
Intro - done. Chapter 1 (historical background) - done! I really liked it when reading the final version. I'm skipping the chapter 3 for now (geography) and am going straight into the cast of characters. So you guys might have, on a following update, one of the characters I'll be putting on our project here. I hope everyone gets excited with it as I am, even if it might delay a little from update to update. Slow and steady, I guess.
But what does this update brings then?
Below are the two images which might be the "cover" of this fan-made supplement. Both the images and the lay-out were worked by me, with the little I discovered about Photomanipulation. It is pretty amateur, I know, but I guess it shows how I want it all to look as decent as possible with the resources and skills I have at hand. You are all welcome to cast votes on your favorite, so go ahead and do it. My players mostly are leaning toward the second one.

knowing nothing of the cast I like them both for different reasons. The first is symbolic looking and the second looks emotional (which if I recall is something you are aiming for with this correct?)

Wow! I love both of those covers. Which ever one you chose, you'll have to use the other pic somewhere else in the book.
But wow, I can't say which is my favorite. Those are damn awesome.

I am really looking forward for this fan-made project! Certainly Rio has a lot to offer when it comes to the World of Darkness. Contrary to popular belief and/or media, things are rough here as well as in any big city in the world. It´s a dense mixture of luxury, debauchery, drugs and druglords, corruption, power, wealth, violence, sin, redemption and innocence. Rio has lots of places that are pretty eligible for ambientation, like urban forests and sanctuaries, abandoned factories, cemeteries both in upper and lower class districts, as well as intense nightlife, in all sorts.
As a cultural reference and a trendsetter when it comes to habits, culture, media, it is certainly a major city to Latin America, like Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Montevideo.
