The Char I'm thinking up is hopefully (ST isn't quite there yet) in a crossover game, and I'm thinking of making him a packless since his pack just got majorly arse-kicked by a balehound.
He will obviously be out for bloody revenge (duuh) but there is very little in the books about those without pack, and I'm not quite sure how much of a taboo it is not to be in a pack.

so Questions!

1: Will Being packless make the Char an "outcast" until he finds a new one? (don't care about tribal affiliations atm)

2: Being without Totem could be a pain in a private are, is there a way to leviate that pain, or don't spirits like the loners?

3: Any other tips/tricks you can think of? the ST is relatively new to WoD so I'm not forcing him to do the whole "spirit world" bit, but if there is something super important that I can't miss about playing a Wolf, please tell me and I'll let him know.

btw, this will be my first Werewolf, played a few mortals earlier, but the ST seemed like he would allow supers this time.

Any help is appreciated, thanks

I'm thinking of creating a new Lodge, but I don't have all the books so it might be a good idea to check if the lodge already exists first.

So, Is there a Lodge that is more or less specified to hunting down other woofs? meaning that they hunt down Bale Hounds and Pure that try to infiltrate the community or somesuch.

If it exists, where? and are they worth buying a new book for?

If not, do you think its a good idea? I can't say that I fully understand the Forsaken culture just yet, so it might be a superbly stupid idea, what do you others think?

Might aswell give some hints as to what the Lodge will be like now that Im already asking about it. Mechanically it will look something like this:

Prereqs: Purity 3, Brawl or Firearms 3, Harmony 7+

Benefits: Using silver weapons against "Bad Wolfs" (ie Balehounds etc) is not a crime against Harmony (Dont know how viable this is, but Im under the impression that Balehounds still are woofs so the crime is still a factor?).

Any other Tips/Hints would be appreciated

I'm new to the forums, so please forgive my noobish posting style. Anyhow, I've been running a game set in NYC for the last few months with some friends of mine. I'm new to storytelling and am wondering what options to present to my players about a given situation.

The story is that a wound has arisen due to the actions of a den of savage vampires. They took over an abandoned apartment building and used it as their personal feeding pit until the PC's pack came through and tore them all apart. So now they have a wound in their territory.

I originally intended them to learn of the wound and then take some time to scout the place and figure out the best way to deal with it. However, these guys are pretty gung-ho about wiping out any and all negative aspects of their land, so I need to come up with something quick.

The pack learned that an elder Ithaeur (whom I said was off on a quest, deep in the spirit wilds, so as to buy me some time) may be able to perform a cleansing ritual at the heart of the place. So the matter may come down to waiting for the elder to return/seeking him out, then imploring him to perform the rite (the pack is still young, so I don't feel any of them are capabale of performing the rite themselves) while they provide protection from whatever lies within the place.

Does that sound feasible to any of you more experienced players/ST's? Any insight/information/advice you could share would be appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone put together a "universal" index for all of the WtF books? So, for instance, if you're trying to remember something about werewolf physiology, you don't have to scramble through the core book, Blood on the Moon, etc. but rather can check the index and find out that, oh, alcohol consumption is on this page in this book.

If someone compiled and posted one that I'm missing, could you send me the link? If not, in my spare time (ha ha), I'll need to put one together. I'll, of course, post it when it's done.

Can werewolves age and die like humans?

Since i found characters in the book (in the appendix) who obviously aged, and one that is supposedly 80 and not quite as healthy as before, and the fact werewolves are born and grow up, I said Werewolves Age, though slower as humans, and can die of old age.

While another ST states, they aint human so age doesnt apply, and their ability to heal would stop the decline and aging of Bodycells, wich i think is a valid point.

Seeing though how Vampires get torpor to avoid becoming too powerful with age, there is no system like that in place for werewolves who become too powerful?

so all in all: I assume they age, slower than Humans, and then Eventually Die (though of course most die in battle way before that)

But has anyone any offical reference to this so my group can settle that argument ^^
Grateful for any assistance.
As a condition for this merit, your character is typically much more aggressive than most people.

While I am no stranger to roleplaying an aggressive person, the problem is my last character who was very aggressive was a morality 3. This person I intend to try and keep at as high a morality as possible through the use of hunter tells since he is starting as a mortal playing Hunter: The Vigil. Do any of you have any ideas or advice on how I can accomplish this without coming across to the other members of my team as a completely stuck up, evil, and downright unsavory person? My character is actually a really likable person....just with a short fuse. I will give a brief history of my character just in case it will help.

The basis of my character is he is an outdoorsman and animal hunter during hunting seasons and has recently moved into the local area where the other hunters live in (of which he has no idea about yet) since he got himself a job working at an animal day care center. Yes, as ironic as it sounds he is a hunter who works with animals when not killing them. But who is to say you can't love animals and slaughter them at different times of the year?

He was raised by his abusive single mother since he father disappeared at birth and eventually died when my character turned 19 due to a combination of arson and good ol' stabbity death by an unknown assailant.

As a result, my character while growing up through school was prone to beating the tar out of anyone who teased him which gave him a reputation as a violent student but at the same time taught the local bullies that there were better targets to pick on than someone who would gladly get suspended in order to beat up the ones who teased him. Since then, he has mostly learned to try channeling his anger in more passive ways but still has a short fuse especially when dealing with people who try talking down to him as if he is a complete idiot or just automatically assume something about him based upon appearance. His vice is pride so if people challenge his ideas especially when their ideas are completely quack, he won't be able to suffer that for long.

I have tried thinking of ways such as my character starting to get really angry then just leaving the scene for a bit to go on a storm grumbling walk by himself for half an hour or so until he calms down, but he can't obviously do that every single time. Eventually, he is going to go ballistic on someone and it is most likely going to be against one of the other characters players. Personally, I am afraid of just trying to beat them up with fists for a bit even though with his strength and brawl skills it won't do too much damage. The problem with that approach is the other characters in my group are quite known for shooting first and asking questions later...especially since they will barely know this character and the last time my morality 3 character tried something similar they shot him in the kneecap giving him the lame flaw. I hate to metagame something like this but seriously, I need other ideas on how to have him be aggressive, yet not try and take out his frustration physically on the closest character all while keeping his morality at 7 and possibly higher later on.
Blood of the Wolf
Territories
The Lodge books (never appealed to me so if someone can sell me on the idea let me know)
Signs of the Moon
Night Horrors: Wolfbane

A spirit fighting werewolves in the shadow is taking damage. When she has lost all its corpus, its over. She discorporate and blah blah, I know that.

What I don't know is this: -A spirit diferentiate damage taken ? I mean, a Zombie does not differentiate damage taken, bashing and or lethal are all the samne, but a spirit ? Does the spirit needs to lost all corpus to aggravated, lethal, or anything to discorporate ?

Here's the latest idea discussed over some fried rice for breakfast:

So...page 177 of the World of Darkness corebook says that cocaine effects should be left up to the Storyteller. In page 27 of the Blood of the Wolf book, Werewolves gain +1 Str and +1 Stam from cocaine use. The Lodge of Chemics figured out how it affects werewolves after all.

...so yeah, players are discussing having coked up werewolves running around. The DEA is going to have a blast.
Hunting around the forums and internet in general I believe that this merit might be wolf-blooded. However, the storyteller has not mentioned that it does anything besides help with interaction and from what I have read about the merit, wolf-blooded seems to do more than that.

Since I do not know much about W:TF in general, do you think that this is the wolf-blooded merit and the storyteller is just keeping me in the dark about the other abilities associated with it?

Just in case he is keeping me in the dark (which I hate), I have a question relating to the wolf-blooded merit. Doing some research on the internet it mentions that I automatically receive the unseen sense merit which must be focused on "werewolf and spirit activity." Normally I thought unseen sense is taken with something specific such as demons, spirits, ghosts, etc. When it says werewolf and spirit activity does this mean I can only sense when those are around whenever they physically do something? Or do I sense werewolves and spirits if they are nearby all the time as would normally be associated with the merit?

For a one for one basis, a spirit can boost his power, finesse, or resistance.

A spirit that have like 25 essence... can take 10 points at the start of a fight to boost his finesse or power, to get a defence bonus of 10 points... and... be... unbeatable... ?

Im I missing something here ?

I recently look up every sourcebook for both Mage and Werewolf (Vampire Pending), and I found something rather distasteful that might put would-be newcomers off Werewolf.

Simply put, even with my connections (in terms of known RPG suppliers), I found The Pure and Rage: A Players Guide to the Forsaken completely unavailable (at least in a physical book form - PDF’s are naturally easily obtained). Now, given this is a tabletop RPG I find many prefer the physical books over PDFs - and thus, in these newbie werewolf fan cases, there’s a problem.

Therefore, perhaps the seasoned Werewolf fans (or simply others in the know) would be so kind as to tell us where on earth to find these two missing source books?

In the meantime, anyone else have any theories why Werewolf seemingly lacks the popularity of other games? Book recommendations to remedy such perceptions?

Here comes Gepetto887, with his stupid insane horrible ideas again.

Trust me, I'll be beating my head against the wall for a little while.

However, I could only hear werewolves being described as "spirit cops" and "policing their territory" so many times before, well... This happened.

So I'm toying around with a Chronicle where the Werewolf: the Forsaken setting is recast in a format that would work nicely with this. The Hisil side is a seedy sort of place, with rampant corruption and a film noir sort of atmosphere. Spirit mobsters. Forsaken going undercover as duguthim and wolf-spirits, and even harder things to masquerade as. Stuff like that.

Other splats exist, but are very minor, at least so far as this Chronicle is concerned. It'd be an episodic thing, too.

Since I've found that just about everything is better when at least a few things have been contributed by other people, I'd like your thoughts. What do you think would be interesting?

Death threats are expected, with this scale of blasphemy, but please limit it to just three in this thread, unless you've got a particularly interesting one. XD
