1) The Motivations you choose at the start of the game already start out in play? I was thinking yes, but the wording of the card got us confused stating "put this card in play...."
2) The motivation of your prey when they are ousted are automatically added to yours right?
3) the ability to search for a card by placing a Laibon into play is once per influence right? not the number of laibon you put into play

I'm trying a Brujah deck for the first time and a few of the Potence cards I have are confusing me:

1- Does Increased Strenght affects a Torn Signpost effect?

2- How do I handle the Manuever given by Thrown Gate? Can I use it the same round the card is played? If so, do I have to reveal the card during the determine range phase?

So after (almost) finishing my Stanislava vote/bleed deck, I went on to think about what to make next and my eye fell on Harbingers of Skulls. Simply because I like them very much from VtM and their resource denial is a lovely thing in VTES.

I've been looking around the web for some HoS decks and to be honest I don't know if any of those actually work. This post is most likely quite newb-like because of the following questions/statements:) So ok, they have Auspex which leads to intercept, but what do they do when they intercept? At first glance they don't seem like a big threat in combat. This really interests me since I'd play something which resolves around Unre, so my question is how do you go around triggering her ability?

Clarifications on Rotschreck - LSJ

just wanting a clarification on a certain point, i know that telepathic tracking and psyche trump the torpor effect of Rotschreck but not the "do not untap " portion of the card. But i saw the 2002 rulings, im not sure i grasped how fast reaction stops the torpor effect of rotschreck. Can somebody explain this to me?
Lastly, are there any other cards aside from the above (Psyche and telepathic tracking)that trumps or stops rotschreck?

trouble with ratings

Does anyone else have trouble with their ratings? My ratings say I have 14 vps. I have 16 in my last 3 games. I also have a limited game, but there is no limited ranking. I contacted Robyn but she never addressed it. Is this stuff taken seriously? I noticed her rating looks up to date. I know there is an update, but ever update passes with no change. Perhaps it should be a paid job if it is not.

LSJ, need clarification on GtU (Govern the Unaligned)

I've been looking... I thought I read either on the rulings page or somewhere else (but can't find it) that if you use GtU at Superior & add enough blood counters to an Uncontrolled Vampire that they become active during your Minion Phase. I very well could be wrong as my fellow JOL players insist but thought I would check with you experts on here. So which is it, please??? I know the GtU card text does not say so, but I thought it was similar to the following card using Quietus:

Questions about game situation and cards

I have three questions that once again popped up during a game session last weekend:

1- Is there any Obfuscate, Presence, Dominate, Auspex or Master card or cards that prevent my prey from bouncing my bleeds?

2- If a vampire has only one blood left and performs an action that requires one blood, can this vampire play an action modifier card that costs one blood too? I mean, the blood from the action is taken from the vampire when the action is announced or just when (and if) the action is successful? And in the case of that being possible, what happends if the action is successful? It just fizzles with no effect?

3- When a player is ousted, his/her cards are burned or removed from the game?

Storyline Bounty: EC 2009, Friday 13th

Next week at the 2009 European Championship, there will be a special storyline tournament on Friday, November 13^th, running opposite the Last Chance Qualifier. Details for the event can be found at: http://sites.google.com/site/friday13storyline/

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the EC this year. But that’s not going to stop me from trying to support the Tremere (and Tremere Antitribu) in the storyline. I’m therefore offering a BOUNTY if the storyline winner helps the Tremere.

The basic bounty can be claimed by ANY CLAN. You don’t have to make a special deck for this. There’s an additional bounty, however, if the winner is a Tremere Antitribu deck (75% of your crypt is Tremere Antitribu). Since the final round has no special rules, the winning player just has to make his intentions clear to the storyline coordinator as to what he wants to do with Claudio Severino.

BOUNTY #1

- 1. Any winning deck (regardless of clan/faction or your key minion) can claim this

I’m obviously a big Tremere Antitribu fan. However, it’s not in our interests to see the Camarilla Tremere destroyed (they provide such lovely recruits to use in our decks!). If anything, it might be quite interesting if we get Claudio Severino to join us. If he shows up as a crypt card, it would be nice to have another Tremere Antitribu vampire (especially on the presumption that storyline rewards don’t “count” for the normal number of vampires a clan gets per grouping). Or if he shows up as an ally, it would be cool to have another mage ally for the clan (to partner up with Nephandus and who can be recruited by Antonio d’Erlette).

If you claim this bounty (which is instead of the prior one), I will offer three times as much. So you could choose THREE of the options listed above (subject to availability). I do not have 3 Enkil Cogs. But you could choose for example:

Choose one or more Methuselahs who do not have a target counter. Successful referendum means each chosen Methuselah gets a target counter. During his or her untap phase, a Methuselah with a target counter chooses one of his or her ready minions, who takes 2 unpreventable damage. A Methuselah may burn the Edge to burn his or her target counter.

If I have been given a target counter, but I get the edge, shall I wait till my next untap phase to burn it (in order to burn the counter) or I can do it any time?
