They want to play mortals during WWII on the front lines. However, I intend them to become Sin-Eaters (I haven't finished the book yet) by killing them along the way.

But until then, I want to have them be physics, as per Second Sight. I remember it mentioning ealy in GtS that those who get the Bargain usually have some access to death.

There are only two players. Anyways, I decided they should both have the see/communicate with ghosts physic power (from Second Sight, don't remember exactly what it's called) and some other unique powers.

One of them is for the medic, and he has the power to grab ghosts and rip apart their corpus, and then fuse that corpus onto a human body missing the same part. So he could take apart a ghost's arm and fuse it to a man who lost his arm. In effect, this would cost him one willpower and allow him to make a Dexterity + Medicine/Occult roll to rip material from a ghost and heal someone with it, recovering anything from bashing to aggravated health levels. Probably a bit powerful, but I do want this to be somewhat of a "super healing" as compared to how supernatural healing usually goes.

The second has the power to enter a grapple with someone, and on his turn spend one willpower to instantly kill them, by ripping their soul out which immediate becomes a ghost. Said ghost fades away after a few minutes if it doesn't have sufficent reason to get an ancor. Any supernatural being that doesn't have a soul (Vampires, Werewolves, Prometheans) would be completely uneffected. Again, I want it to be a very simple "instant kill" if he can get his hands on you (keep in mind this is during WWII, so it isn't useful from 100 yards away).

But I'd like some advice on how to work some of this stuff.

Also, I would GREATLY appreciate some ideas for stories to run. It's going to start in a battlefield, but I haven't thought much besides that yet. Still reading books as it is.

Cursed Item?

[Note: This is cross-posted from the General Forum]

Hey all, in the ST musing Thread, Viradu mentioned a story he ran about
an indestructible book, and it got my gears turning just abit. I'd love
to cook up some ideas to use for a one-shot(or one-night) game to save
for future use, but I thought it couldn't hurt to discuss it now.

So, I thought I'd mine for the forum for ideas, see what people could think up.

The basic premise is, the player(s) would come into possession of a
Book. The book is essentially a cursed item that drives the "owner"
insane until they are either locked up, or dead, and then passes to
another "owner". It can't be destroyed.

So, whats the back story for this book? Is there a back story? Who
created it? Why can't it be destroyed? Can someone get rid of it
without going insane?

These are questions I thought I'd pose here, to see what people could
come up with. Am I asking you to plan my story? In some ways. But,
I just thought it'd be fun to see what kind of crazy stuff could be
cooked up for a one-shot type of story...

Fox Mulder

Str2 (never saw he do anything particularly strong

Dex3

Stam3(he's always chasing people)

Int3 (Mulders above average intelligence, but Scully flat out remembers more thing than he does when it comes to non occult stuff)

Wits5(this is where he shines, in a life or death situation he's quick to think of something off the wall to save himself or others

Resolve5(Come on, name one time Mulder gave up)

Pres2(nothing overtly spetacular)
Man2 (nothing all that dramatic about his skills here)

Comp3 (Mulder is prone to getting extremely angry, not much, but I've seen him blow up... when someone is hiding the truth

Acamedics3 Medicine1 Politics3 Science1 Computer1

Occult5 (unexplained phemonon)(supernatural behavior)(extraterrial occurances) ((Mulder has never ever not known what something may have possibly been, he always has an idea in mind)

Investigate5(super natural behavior) (Come on what case has he not solved in the first 20 minutes. The entire show is about him proving his theories correct from the evidence he found in the beginning)

Drive1 Firearms3 Larceny1

Stealth3(He does sneak into places when all that FBI sh** don't work)

Athletics3 (I always see Mulder chasing something done, usually getting his ass kicked after he catches up)

Brawl2 (he can fight, but he very rarely wins against even normal people with minimal skills

Intimidate1 Persuasion2 Socialize3

Empathy4 (he can tell what you're feeling well)

Subterfuge4 (I can probably count on my hands the episodes in which someone outright lied to Mulder and got away with it)

Allies Conspiracy theorist2

Allies Shadow Goverment3(he's had a lot of times when some outside force that he had no idea existed just bails his ass out of the fire

Quick draw (maybe?)

Virtue faith (Everything in Mulders world is based on a belief that an outside force is doing something to effect his life)

Vice Gluttony (He is relentless, he will not stop no matter how insane, or outmatched his situation is. And it usually almost get him and other people killed searching for the truth)

I may have missed some things but that's what I'm thinking

Scully

Str2
Dex3
Stam2 (she never runs, not like Mulder does)

Int4 ( She is a wealth of wierd facts, and is super smart, just not genius level smart)

Wits3(she can't keep up with Mulder on improvising)

Res4
Pre2
Man2
Comp4 (Scully is a rock, she only broke down a few times on the show, and it was extreme)

Acamedics4 Medicine4 Occult1 Investigate3(forenzic investigation) politics3 Science4 (biology)(forenics) Computer1

Athletics2 Drive2 Stealth1

Brawl3( I don't know why but she seems to win her fights more than Mulder does)

Firearms4(she seems a better shot to, but I don't have a clear reason for thinking it)

Persuasion1 Empathy1 Subterfuge3 Socialize2
Streetwise1

Intimidate2 (Scully seems scarier to me than Mulder, she seems like she'd smoke your ass before Mulder would)

Common Sense

Virtue Fortitude (Scully sticks to her guns, if their is even a shred of evidence that leans away from a supernatural explaination she'll stick to it hands down)

Vice Wrath (I don't know why but Scully seems to hate morons, and she actually gets really pissed when she has to hang around stupid people)

what is needed-
1.) Story tellers besides myself to choose a city and run the game
2.) players to play
3.) forums from which to post character sheets and messages
4.) msn or yahoo IM
5.)good RP

theme- all settings and templates are available, wich is used per city is up to the ST in charge of that city or group of cities, players will be able to travel any where in the world( if they have the means), if they travel into another STs realm, that ST takes them over , one character per player per city, 2 characters max

that's it, if your interested and want to help me build a camirilla
type community, with more frequent play, and no fee, need as little as 1 other st and 3-5 players and its a
go, but we can open it to as many as are acceptable to current members.

Important to note however that while they are not
exactly 100% up to date anymore since books obviously came out after they were
written, the vast majority of all WoD content, including which
book and which page numbers they may be found at are included. In addition, these were not written by me and all credit should be given to the original authors who may be found at the bottom of each link. Please enjoy.
Is there a book that fleshes them out?

I'd also like to know more about the Hobgoblins in Changeling. The Demons from Hunter were a nice taste, but I suppose I'd have to get Inferno for the main course. Are the demons in that book fairly consistent with Hunter?

But so far, it seems that Mage has the most diverse Rogue's Gallery: There are more variety's of mages-as-their-own-worst-enemies than the other supernaturals, they also get the full range of spirits and ghosts, as well as Abyssal Entities, which I suppose are their major "original" enemy. Hm, Ghost Mages...are these elaborated on anywhere? Does Geist deal with them at all? Given how the NWoD reacts against mixing templates, I'm surprised this one got through...

I really like the Pandorans and Centimani from Promethean, however; at the moment I think they're my favorite antagonist. Cruel and monstrous, but for a good reason, and very customizable. I can easily see them crossing over into other gamelines with little problem...

Who are your favorite NWoD antagonists?
The awesome cover was portraited in the last page of the Immortals book.
Today, one of the freelancers just declared the finalization of his part on the book:
http://innocent-man.livejournal.com/399983.html

By the way, the freelancer is Matt Mcfarland, my favorite WoD writer, i hope he will continue to write many books for white wolf..

Back in the topic, does anyone know anything about this book?

Discussions that are currently open can be found in the second post of this thread, here
By popular demand (And a little late, I'm sorry), Shock and I have rounded up all (or most) of the content from the original thread for repost (To streamline content production without hours of reading or confusion).
Dragon the Embers on the White Wolf Wiki

My personal goal with this project is a PDF book on par with Evo Shandor's "Demon" book (Besides page texture, passable as a White Wolf product)

For skeptics, here's a few facts about the Dragon template:
Dragons are locomotives. They advance to True Form at a rate equal to 'Furnace' aspects per turn. Likewise, their supernatural talents (Philosophies) take at least 5 turns to reach full potency. In this sense, they are much slower than the other templates available for players, but they make up for it in punch.

A Dragon does not assume Aspects type by type, it is a dot-by-dot basis. For example, a Dragon with Furnace 5 and 15 dots of Aspects (Natural Weaponry 5, Scales 2, Inferno 3, Wings 2, and Fire Skin 3) might only assume 2 dots of Natural Weaponry in one turn, despite the fact that she possesses 5 dots in that Aspect. Perhaps she wants to assume one point of Inferno and two points of scales, or maybe she intends to put Fire Skin on full this turn. She doesn't jump to full power instantly. In fact, it usually takes quite a while.

Dragons are haunted by the dual nature of their practical immortality. On one side, their bodies can die and die again, and will recover over the course of months/years/decades. But on the other, their Heart (The core of their being) is completely vulnerable to attack, and its death is the last death for the Dragon.

This thread is dedicated to all archetypes of WoD and the most ironic thing that has happened in your chronicle.

For me, my character and his cell had a lead on a cult that supposedly was hanging around Catholic University in Washington D.C. Upon arriving at the scene, we were immediately ambushed by two demons and an unknown assailant who used abilities to mentally incapacitate his targets. Things were going well at first and we managed to vanquish one of the demons. However, two of us were then rendered unconscious while the final one was still recovering from a mental assault. Since she was the only one awake, she was about to be tortured for information when in desperation she yelled out a statement pretty similar to "just what do you want?!"

The demon looked confused for a minute before asking if she was attempting a negotiation. Perhaps sensing a turn of luck or perhaps just trying to stay alive as long as possible she responded "yes" and immediately struck a bargain with the demon for all our lives to be saved. Since there were 3 of us, the demon demanded that 3 other people must die. This lead her to go on a killing spree across 3 states before she was finally killed by my character who thought she was drawing too much attention to us by becoming known as a rampant serial killer. To make matters worse, she had allowed herself to been murdering someone in broad daylight in the middle of a crowded street so the police had some really great sketches of her that appeared all over the television.

Of course the irony was that my character didn't find out she killed those people to save his life until after he turned her into a puddle of meat through a combination of aggressive striking 4 and Berserking 2.

Can you fill me in on the status of White Wolf, the physical game company CCP acquired in Atlanta?

It's just an imprint... White Wolf used to have a fairly large staff. It doesn't anymore. It's focusing primarily on the World of Darkness RPG products. It's not doing some of the things it used to do; board games and other card games and things. The focus of the company [CCP] is on making MMOs and our legacy table top business is a legacy business.

Maybe someone looks for players? ;] I would love to play on GW, but I know that my English is to bad to run it as ST....
any ideas would be helpful, but allow me to give you an example;

a rich and socially powerful man enlisted the characters to save his daughter from his wife whom divorced him. as such she is already dead and so is the mother. how do they tell this to the father? if they tell him straight are they going to be in danger of being killed? do they instead bring the zombie back? questions, question, question.
