is it a faux-pas to mention them here? Are they an inspiration to you?

How would it be a faux-pas?

I've used outdated firearms frequently in my current chronicle - one of the PC's, a former low-level beat cop came up with the brilliant idea that modern forensics has a very hard time identifying bullets fired from a vintage Winchester (or any other antique weapon for that matter).

Ultimately, this led to a bizarre social environment at a gun show along the Jersey Shore, but it's result was entertaining.

I'd say it's a good inspiration.

I think he might be refering to the brothers Winchester. Sam and Dean that is.

No known faux-pas................. and yes, they inspire (somewhat) hunters in my game.

Actually, Supernatural is a great show for Hunter game ideas... Especially in the earlier seasons... the two have been mostly involved with this whole Angel vs Demon war on earth.

I say this jokingly: Reffering to the Winchester brothers is now considered faux-pax due to the simple fact that they now have their own role-playing game.

Speaking of faux pas' ...

Sam:  Do you know what slash is?
Dean:  No, what is it?
Sam:  As in Sam slash Dean.
Dean:  What?  That's ... they do know we're brothers, right?
Sam:  They don't seem to care.
Dean:  That's just sick.

Supernatural is one of the inspiration named in the core Hunter book so... no faux-pas if you ask me. As for their own RPG... I sure hope it's better then SG-1...

Awesome scene in an awesome episode!

As for the OP's question, not that I've noticed.  I find them an inspiration, both in terms of the types of hunts they undertook in the  early seasons and in terms of the major Heavenly conflict which dominated the last season and a bot.

You think that's bad? You should look at Metabaron's or Agone. Assuming either of them are still in print.   Truly horrible books.

No offense to the Supernatural game, but if I was going to play/run it, I would just use WoD.

I stay away from games that are licensed products of someone else's creative work; seems people tend to get burned.
