Great show.

Season 4 comes out on DVD next week!

I see the Winchester Bros. as the archetypical tier 1 hunters.  They seem to operate on the periphery of other tier 1 and tier 2 hunter groups.  I think that their father, mother, and maternal grandfather (and perhaps at one point, Bobby) were potentially part of something bigger, and thus the source of all of Sam and Dean's hunter contacts.  Sam seems to be the poster-boy for the Lucifuge (pre-recruitment).

Agreed. The book is an interesting read for info, but other then that....use it to keep the table balanced and pull out the Hunter book.

My gaming group(and let me tell you how great it is to actually be able to SAY that) has adopted a rotating game idea.. since all of us, except one, have a great deal of RP/ST experience.. currently I'm running a Scion game.. but they are interested in the WoD..

So.. I'm going to start them off in a mortals game and let it evolve into a Hunter game.. I plan on allowing them to use a lot of the Supernatural tricks.. salting thresholds.. devils traps.. rock salt shotguns.. things like that... plus.. I'm also working on the Roadhouse Compact.. basically a Tier 2 Hunter group to work with .. and the Winchesters may make an appearance or two if the mood strikes me..

When I run my Hunter/Supernatural game, the Winchesters are going to have a very, very bad (and well deserved reputation).

I'm now more interested in S5 after what I've found out. The guy who played Jacob on Lost is going to play a Big roLe. and Jo and her mom will be back!

I ran a game about Vampire Hunters awhile back, and when they killed someone who had been bitten, when they buired them, they salted the bodies and burned them.

Now, I'm really glad I went back to try some spoiler coverage. you'll enjoy s4 a whole lot.  they cranked up the pathos and humor. it's fantastic.

I don't see anything wrong with using the Supernatural universe for Hunter games. You already have a built-in setting, which means less work for the ST, odds are good the players will be familiar with it, which means less work for the players. Win-win IMO.

one possibility is a variation of Miracle of Gadarene Benediction from Spirit Slayers would be my suggestion--but without the animal transfer.  As he gets more powerful, I'd suggest B: MoG with a modified contested Willpower test vs. the Demon on exceptional successes. The Demon loses (most likely because of the initial contest) it dies.  The Demon wins, it winds back in Hell.
