Our online game is going through a hard reboot and is relaunching with a new premise and characters.  We currently have three characters and would like 1-2 more for a full band.

The premise - The game is going to start in roughly 380AD Britain.  I like the idea of a Scion game happening through the ages.  However I'm no history major so this is more akin to a Hercules/Xena history then a factual disertation on the Saxon invasions.  More fun, less learning:)  As a result any pantheon is okay BUT if you're desperate for the Loa make a half way feasible excuse please.  And we already have one character from the modern day who's been trapped in the past so that avenue's taken:)

When - Mondays from 7-10 Atlantic time (6-9EST) on IRC.

Thanks

hehe well quite a few of the Loa gods are from West African faiths the Orisha, the Vodun, & the Lwa; so the question is could you take them as being from their roots rather than from the modern Voodoo faith? This would leave the Overworld without clear basis of the North Road, while the South road of Cadomble could be exchanged for a more Congoish feel, and the East & West roads could easily be left the same. Or you could change the overworld in full parcel to one based on the originating faiths. Guinee also could be kept the same or changed outright, while the Baron takes on the guise of an earlier spirit of Death. (Hes the only one of the listed Loa I cant find anything on from Africa. shrugs)

After all,
"Let the other Gods strut and lecture about how the universe “really works.” The Loa smile and remember the earliest days of mankind, when hunter-gatherers prayed to them for salvation while running from predators across the savanna."

Still looking for players? I've been trying to find a second Scion game for some time now.

1) I have thought about switching up the Loa for the originating pantheon(s), and it is feasible.  I'd rather not have the Loa at all for the time being but if someone is dead set I'm not going to say "no".  I'm going to say "explain to me how".

2)  Yes, still looking for players.

I understand that so basically you can be a Scion of the Loa, just they arent the Loa yet, so you dont get Cheval I already figured on that since its a Modern Voodoo concept.

Also read more to find out the Orishas & Lwa are both branches of West African Vodun & have shared deities like Ogoun, Legba, & Shango, so theyre definatly connected, which means you're correct in saying pantheon. (Kinda like the Roman & Greek or German & Nordic many gods were one and the same but there were others who were distinct of each region.)

Not completely, but (my understanding is) it plays a greater role in Voodoun then W African faiths. We are moving a bit out of my expertise here though.

I never said you don't get Cheval:)

You're thinking far too much.  Cheval as a power that allows its Scions/Demigods/Gods to possess people and have them do things sounds exactly up the alley for an unknown (until now), alien religion from countries no one has even heard of.  In other words you still get Cheval.  Might have a different name maybe, but its still just as viable as Arete or Jotunblunt.

Say "ooh, ooh, ooh, pick me, pick me" and post your character concept (no need for full stats, but hey if you want).  It has to be something that'll fit with the rest of the group though and I do give the pre-existing players the right to chime in on both the character and the player.

I have a few ideas that could be moved around a bit, what's the rest of the group so far?

Mmmmmm very good point I like it. But if I were to join your game I wouldn't go with a Scion of the Vodun anyways. Id rather play an ultimate soldier type Scion of Ares (kinda like Vic, only with fire & earth boons as well), the judge natured Scion of Anubis weighing the souls of wrong doers on an invisible scale with power over death and darkness, or even a Scion of the Morrigan with an expertise in weaponry, & a repoir with corvids and plantlife.

Could you give us the details of what characters are already in the group?

Also, could you describe your game as a film-genre and rating?  Like, "Epic LoTR Adventure, PG" or "Gritty Film Noir, R" or "Biblical Romantic Comedy, PG-13" or "Kung Fu / Action Comedy, PG"?

I'm also assuming that by MIRC that this is text based, correct?

Would a wandering scion of Ogma (a warrior-philosopher sort of deal) fit in at all? ^^

Okay right now we have

1) WIld Child druid daughter of Persephone.  Think of that "Nell" movie with Jodie Foster, only with super powers:)
2) Roman soldier building an army of the dead for his father, Hades.
3) Internet cam-girl/anime fan/cosplay darling kicked back in time to learn some lesson or somesuch.  Daughter of Amaterasu.

Ratings wise...I always envision Scion as what Michael Bay could do with a good script and a better editor.  I love the over the top nature of it, I relish the fact that every fight is a highly stylized John Woo/Tsui Hark extravaganza.  I appreciate the fact that sentances like "When Martin shockwaves the draco-lich into the air, we hit it with the jet" happen with alarming frequency (yes, true story from my TT game and my hands down favorite moment ever).  Its huge and epic.  Enemies are always mortal, love is either extremely tragic or the stuff of Legend.  Death is never permanent (except when it is...see also tragic love), the Gods are boisterous and the PCs are THE HEROES.  I try to have at least one "water cooler" moment per game, and if it were a movie it would have a billion dollar budget.  I do not strive to emulate the myths and legends of old and my history, geography and other such things may be spotty but I do my very best to make sure that the game is the sort that you'll tell your friends about and make them green with envy that they're not playing it too.

In short it'll be Legend-----wait for it---------------------------------------------------------------------ary.:)

But mainly we push the limits of PG-13 due to violence and language (not many F-Bombs but some other juicy words might make it in)
