I was flipping through Promethean the other day, and it just occured to me:
What happens to these guys after the pilgrimage is over?
I mean, yes, they get their souls back, and they're human again, and that's all very well and good, but what do they do with their now-human lives? Is this talked about in any of the books?

Just a matter of semantics, the promethean doesn't get their soul back. Its a brand new soul.

As for what you do, you now have a mortal character and can run any game that would be appropriate for a mortal character.

A buddy of mine and I were also working on a Hunter compact called the Keepers of Redemption that was composed entirely of redeemed prometheans. Had our Promethean game not gone down in flames.

Technically the games over when you reach redemption.  Promethan is the only game where it ends after you are redeemed and you reach all your milestones.  Though Sparketh seemed to have made lemonade and kept going though... kudos to him.  I tend to say you get redeemed whenever we end the game or you want your character to move on.  It's a game about living in a fucked up world and if you're lucky you get to be normal.

Oh and it's in the back of the book somewhere with milestones and that sort of thing when they say the game ends I don't know the page

Or kill them all and make them vamps!

Or kill them all and make them geists!

Or have some True Fae drag them off to Arcadia and unite the group years later.

Perhaps there was enough wolf blood (or even pieces) in those corpses to make them wolf blooded upon redemption. Shortly afterwards, they experience the first change.

There are endless possibilities really. Talk to your group about what they want.

Good answers, but not really what I was going for. Maybe I was unclear:I am not currently running a promethean game, and as such am nowhere near the point of needing to figure out "okay, what do I do with these guys?"Though that's also a legitimate concern, of course. I was just curious about what an NPC promethean would do and how they would react to becoming mortal. I can't imagine it would be easy to adapt to.

or have them be possessed by Demons

or have them become Skin thieves

or have them them become Immortals

or have them become Psychics or Thaumaturges

or have them under go the First Change to become Ferals

i think that does it for Core WoD.

just a thought but once you become Redeemed, you may forget about the supernatural world but the supernatural world doesn't forget about you..

I doubt a redeemed Promethean would want to become Immortal for reason.

As toward for playing on as a Mortal. It was touched on Santurine Night, not sure how much. But the option to continue to go on is there, if you want to keep playing as a mortal, live and let live.

Well it really depends on how much one remembers of their pilgrimage. Some gain a soul and become human remembering very little if all about there previous life. What's worse is that there are situations where other Created find out, and start harrasing them and the redeemed doesn't know why?

The Athanors will give special traits to redeemed that may help influence how they live their new life afterwards.

There is an NPC in the core book, I think his name was Calogero. I'd recommend checking him out.

Actually a promethan who is redeemed would actually know what it means to be human because that was the point of his journey.  He would have a good grasp of how human behavior and if he doesn't what the hell was he busting his ass trying to do.  As far as his/her actual mindset it's up to you.  Though they're not confused anymore.

After you're done with your pilgrimage and you're human you go out and fuck as many people as you can because God knows this body isn't going to last!

Well, no more confused than a human could be (which can be pretty confused). Being human also doesn't give them any special skills or put them into a system in which they did not previously exist. If they are in the US, their soul didn't come with a SSN, a high school diploma, or a working knowledge of how to deal with the DMV.

Personality-wise they're not confused.  They pretty much have or at least understand the full range of human emotions now, because they would have never been redeemed if they didn't.  Though like Sparketh said if they didn't encounter specific things in their pilgrimage they may be a little out of their element.  Chances are they know all about the importance of money, identification, and most social behavior.

And they lived happily ever after.

Seriously, why not?
