Hi. So, I'm in a game of Promethean. And my ST has basically told us that if we want to make a new lineage, we can.

And I thought to myself: I have a great idea.

A lineage of promethean's based on Lazarus.

The only thing is, I need some help figuring out... well... everything.

Think you can give a dude a hand, good people?

Do you "need help" or do you need others to do all of your character-gen?

Regardless, ideas;

A possible Bestoment could be allow them them to revive others from death, in a sort or redirection of the Nephri Bestoment.

Disquiet could take the form of a sense of loss or abandonment.

More to come.

I don't need character-gen. I just need help with the lineage, that's all.

Also, I do like your ideas so far.

My idea for making more is that they wrap the body in linen, store them in a cave (or a cellar) and stand at the entrance three days later and cry: Come out/wake up!

Do we want to make Jesus the demiurge?

Set up some sort of Lazarus Heresy?

Alright, so Jesus is the Demiurge to the Lazarus Lineage.

Alright, I'm gonna mix up my Medieval Christian Mythology, so here goes.

The Lazarus Heresy goes like this: What walked out of the cave when Jesus called wasn't exactly Lazarus. He looked just like him. But he had some form of memory loss. The Son of God told Lazarus that he wasn't the man he was. That he was something less. No second chance is free, that if he learned to be human, he would be human once more.

However, Lazarus (as the man called himself after his body) did not believe Jesus. But soon, he did. When his family cast him out... and the very land forsook him. When he heard about Jesus' trial, he went and bribed a legionaire and took his place... to assault and beat the man as he walked the Way of the Cross. And at the end... as he mocked Jesus on the cross, those immortal words were spoken: Wait here, until I come again.

And Lazarus still walks the land, unable to achieve his great work, but capable of creating more like him.

Anyone have an idea for disfigurements?

Heretical, even blasphemous, and sure to bring controversy... Yup, sounds like it'd be a rather good fit in the World of Darkness.

Just a recap for everyone invovled.

Lazarus is the Progenitor. Jesus is the Demiurge. Bestowment is sorta like the Osirian (needs some thought). Disquiet manifests as loneliness/abandonment. Disfigurements is stigamata. The Lazarans believe in the Lazarus Heresy.

Anything else anyone can add on what we have so far or something new?

Bestowment  could just be revivication. It seems to work fine for the mythos and torment could be a urge to sacrifice or self destruct for a hour per azoth. There could also be a super azothic spear head legend to be attached to these guys if you really want to get deep into detail.

Perhaps wastelands caused by them force the dead to take up new life? At first it starts off small, a flower, bush, patch of grass springs back to life, but something is off. The color perhaps? The smell? The longer the Promethean stays the bigger the things that come back become.

Now its a tree, its bark feels like wax. A family dog returns home, petting him leaves clumps of fur in your hands.

The final stage is of course, people. Shades become restless and possession becomes more prevalent in the area. Its easier for the ghosts to take root.

Then of course... that is that tapping coming from the mausoleums in the graveyard and morgue storage units. Infact, if you put your ear to the ground in a cemetery, you can hear the dead wailing and screaming for release. Pounding their coffin lids to no avail.
Don't put it in your mouth...

Well, since the lineage seems to be more based on blasphemy than ressurection, how about using twisted miracles or biblical plagues as the Wasteland effects?

Early on, perhaps there could be an overabundance of frogs and/or grasshoppers. Third stage could be famine or drought of some sort, and fourth stage could include water turning to blood.

Aside from that, Maj's idea is freaking awesome.

Both ideas are friggin' awesome.

But, for the bestowment, how about something different then refluffed revivfication? Perhaps it works only on mortals?

Oh! Oh! And a humor for the Lazaran Lineage: Supine. Tears, that is.
