Is there a way to be an effective summoner or necromancer with the disbelief rules? If say your playing in a mid evil campaign and you want to raise some zombies to defend yourself against ignorant sleeper villagers?  I am not saying there are not ways around using vulgar magic. What I'm asking is it possible to play a mage that summons ghost, zombies, spirits and constructs to do there bidding when sleepers are involved?

Thanks,

Join a summoner Legacy.  The Bokor (Tome of the Watchtowers, I believe), for example, can raise zombies that are immune to Paradox and Disbelief because they use a Legacy Attainment instead of a spell.

Use zombies that don't look like the shambling dead.   Seriously, just cover up those bullet wounds, and the dude just acts like he's stoned.

As for spirits, all you need to do is bargain and have them act on their own.   Or summon them, then use a power to control them; spirit powers can't be hit with disbelief, and I have a hard time seeing people being able to Disbelieve a mind-control spell on a being they cannot see.

A Master of Spirit can make himself the center of his very own spirit court, and have lesser spirits crawling over each other for the chance to serve him. Alternatively, he can spend alot of time and effort to create a rank 5 spirit (a minor god) and design it to follow his commands. Given its power, it can also probably shanghai lesser spirits into the mage's service.

Spirit magic is fun. :)

All great examples. I have always shied away from spirit because I have a hard time wrapping my brain around shadow. Again, great ideas. Thanks.

You don't need to understand the shadow to summon spirits; there are entities that Spirit can summon from other realms.   Not to mention that you can simply stay in this world and summon spirits to you.

Hey, is there a legacy for making constructs and other such things made with matter? Also, is there a legacy based on Alchemy?

The closest that I know of are the Uncrowned Kings (core), Tamers of Stone (Ancient), and Forge Masters (Ancient).   The first's Attainments grant you bonuses for performing alchemical works.   The second allows you to scry/teleport with Space, but also to strengthen and manipulate solid objects through Matter.   The last, Forge Masters, improve objects and eventually summon durable phantasms.

There's no Legacy with attainments specifically for constructs.

So you can make one for your self.. Wait isn't there the Spirit Matter legacy from Silver Ladder that could be used for just this purpose if used on Jurry-Rigged robots??
