Has no one played this game? It seems to be extremely rare and tough to buy. There is no mention of it on any of these forums either. Perhaps it is just me whom finds the lore of Demonology and Angelology interesting but this game sounds great. Let me know if anyone has played it and if it be worth while investing time in eh?
Thank y'all

I've never heard of this either. Did some research into it and it sounds pretty damn cool though.

It can be found on amazon pretty easily though and ebay has quite a few of the companion books.

There are plenty of the guys who frequent these forums who either has or is playing it, including myself. If you're asking me, it's worth it. And there's talk of it on these forums as well, maybe not as much as Vampire, Mage or Werewolf, but then again that's the holy trinity.

Try searcing for DtF instead and I bet you'll find something.

All in all, it's a great game.

They don't have Demon (or any of the old games for that matter) listed on their site because it's a dead line. The only games listed there are the game-lines that are still running, and when it comes to World of Darkness, we're talking the new lines. And since Demon hasn't been "reinvented" so to speak, you only have the old game to play. There are some similarities in Geist: The Sin-Eaters, but Geist doesn't adress the core theme or mood of DtF. Otherwise there's World of Darkness: Inferno for the demonic side of things, but that's far from DtF as well. And as far as I know, there's at least two fan-made conversions.

But if you want to play Demon the Fallen, you'll have to get the old books (that aren't in print since nWod). But if you like the game, it's worth it. As said, I love it myself.

You could always get the books as PDFs through DriveThruRPG if you're having trouble getting hold of the books.

I've also played the game and loved it. It doesn't fit very well with the other games in the OWoD line for a crossover, in my opinion, but it's a great game on it's own. Although I have all the books my troupe wasn't very keen on playing it so unfortunatly we droped after a few sessions.

Yeah shame that white wolf have let it go. Guess that adds to the aesthetics of it though. My dear of a friend has found a used book of it and considerately bought it for me. From what I have read on the wiki it sounds like great. Cant wait!

I truly love the Faustian Faction and the House Of Devils. :D

You might also want to check out Demon: the Return (http://demonthereturn.wikidot.com/), which is a very cool fan-created revision of Demon: the Fallen for the NWoD rules.

Have played it alot and it sits on my shelf along with most of the supplements. I highly recommend it but as said before its not a setting that plays well with others.

I used to run a Demon campaign, and I can tell you, it was lovely!
It's hard to mix up with the other games but that's hardly a downside.
The gameplay is great as you can make humans "adore" or "believe" in you, which grants you Faith that fuels your powers.
In return you can give them powers or enhance their looks or whatever (a real deal with the devil).
The factions are worked out quite well and the houses each had their part in creation, which stipulates your powers and demonic forms.

In a few words ... It's great!

I liked the game although I've had precious little opportunities to play it. And I have to admit that it was kinda a disappointment for me initially since I actually anticipated that Demons would be a bit stronger and because well in my opinion we aren't really meant to be playing Demons but rather Angels who struggle with their Torment. We finally got rules for actual Demonic beings in the Earth Bound book but then again we aren't really meant to be playing them and I know for a fact that no ST I know would allow me to play one.

So while a nice game it really should have been called Angels: The Tormented or some such. The Dark Ages version which resembles more the modern Earth Bound is much better at portraying Demons than the actual DtF.

To me it sounds as if you're limiting yourself rather than the system/game limiting you. You can make really neat, demonic characters with the Fallen as well.

Remember, Possessed, that almost all the OWoD games were built around playing characters with an aspect of humanity. Changelings are Fae-Human hybrids; Garou are part wolf, part human, part spirit; Wraiths are just dead humans. In Vampire, your character stopped being playable if they went below 3 Humanity. Necessarily then, the characters in Demon: the Fallen were those demons that anchored themselves in human bodies and human memories. I think of it as a conscious choice by the developers, since most people wouldn't know how to role-play ancient, inhuman beings of cosmic power, but could certainly present such a being when given human limits.

That is part of why I love the game. You can play up the demonic side, struggling against its Torment or finding a way to channel that primordial rage. You can play up the human side, interacting with other beings for the first time in eons, getting lost in the minutiae of daily life or becoming frustrated by its inanities. Best of all, you can play up the fusion of both parts, showcasing a being that combines the best and worst of angels and humans. But the fusion is always there, and neither side can exist without the other, no matter how hard one might try.

DtF was a brilliant game -- I ran a Demon LARP with a Time of Judgment story arc that really caught on.

One of my house rules was always "No fives"; I always felt like the fifth dot in anything was something to work toward in play.  When my best friend submitted a character, he warned me: "I have a five."  When he showed me his character sheet, he followed that with: "Hurt me."

His five was in Mentor.

His five-dot Mentor was a Devil Baron of the Ebon Legion, still imprisoned in the Pit and demanding that his followers help him to escape.  After nine months or so, he'd finally gathered everything he needed, and the summoning was made good, so the Baron was able to join them in a fight against the local (very established and, of course, very powerful) Earthbound.  Of course, two of the four characters who devoured the Earthbound ended up succumbing to their own Torment, thereby becoming the new antagonists for the next cycle....

I have to stop my rambling or I'll rave about it all night!  :P  Plotting for this game was always a great time.  I'd love to get a play-by-post going, if I can manage it.
