Im back.

So after talking to my player with life 5, to make a long story short, he said this:

-I will use only like 3 bestial forms for combats... if needed.  To spy on people, i can use small animal like a bat, a small dog, a black cat, or even a monkey to steal stuff, but if a combat form is needed, with life 5, I want to change into a T-rex, a sabertooth tiger, and a prehistoric cave bear (Dire bear).

He said also that he looked into the shapechanging breed books to see the size, and came to this conclusion.

A cave bear average weight is a little more than 2 time the weight of the average bear listed officialy.  He talk about 1100 pounds.  Also, he said that since life was at 5, no need to use the average weight and height since the spell does not limit him, so we look at the "world record" of the cave bear here...

Str: 8,  Dex: 3,  Sta: 7

Bite 3 L,  Claw 1 L

Size: 10

Natural Armor : 2

+1 perception

Health: 17

What I was thinking:
-Size 10 is too big for me.
-Stamina 7 is high, i was considering 6
-An average polar bear by me would have 6 in Str.  A Boosted one would be 7, so the world record of a cave bear... can be 8 ?  Yeah ?

Saberthooth Tiger or smilodon are supposely bigger and more dangerous than our tiger of today.  Let's imagine the biggest Siberian tiger who is mad like hell, and then, make him... bigger.  Cool.  Always keep in mind that we do not have here the average tiger, but the "world record" smilodon.

We talk about +/- 800 pound

Str: 7,  Dex: 5,  Sta: 6

Bite 4 L

Claw 2 L

Size 8

Natural Armor: 1

+2 perception

Health: 14

What I was thinking:
-Size 8 is big for me... then in the changing breed book, the tiger is bigger than the bear, and even the lion... so... hum... im sometime wondering how white-wolf consider their size thing.  A siberian tiger is a little more bigger than a lion true... but to see a difference of 1 in size... is a little much I think.
Finaly, if human are 5, and can be 6... then a cave tiger can be 8.

-Stamina 7 is high, i was considering 6
-An average polar bear by me would have 6 in Str.  A Boosted one would be 7, so the world record of a cave bear... can be 8 ?  Yeah ?

-Bite 4 is much... but those thoots where... impressive.  Maybe + 2 or +3 with 9 again... or simply armor piercing ?  What do you think of that ?

Dexterity is hard to find out... but the ancestor of the feline... the predator of old... living in a world of great creatures... must have been somewhat agile.  However, I do not know about it really.

Finaly, we have the cream.  The T-Rex.  The preadator kings of old time.
About 20 feet tall to the hips, like almost 50 feet long in total, with a weight averaging 4 tons... this one is killer.

Str: 12, Dex: 4, Sta: 10

Bite 4L

Claw 1L

Size: 20

Natural armor 3

Health: 30

-1 perception

What I was thinking:
Str 12 is much don't you think ?  However it fits with the size... suposing the size is fitting with the description in the first place.  Dexterity 4 is too much.  He was quick and agile, but he was not an acrobat.
Size 20... really ?  I mean... Really ???
Natural armor 3... why not.  Some actual animal have a natural armor near that... and a Tyrex was probably more durable in term of natural armor.
-1 perception... hum... don't know.  Maybe more.  Jurrasik park told me that.
Bite + 4 ok.  Armor piercing ?  9 again ?  8 again ? After all, it is a TYREX !
---

I need help to figure out what would be acceptable and what do you think fits the description.  I don't want to overpower his capacity, but I also want to give him what he deserves to get.  We play with vampires, werewolves... and with the armor reload rules... combat hacks for werewolves... werewolves becomes real killer.

If you can help me clear those things up... I would be glad, and I hope that those 3 "animals" might help you too.

Thanks.

Good man, that player understands the power of the natural world.

STs could learn a lot from him.

For all three sizes, these creatures are not long distance runners, they'd ambush, so stamina might not be appropriate, species bonus health boxes would.

Cave bear: The Short faced cave bear was larger because of its longer legs, it didn't hibernate so it hunted all the time. That extra fat and size was seen on Ursus maritimus tyrannus. Specially if that bear was about to hibernate and has been gorging all Fall.

Saber tooth tiger: The fossil record shows those teeth snapping off quite often, they were designed to sink into a grazer's neck, not an armored police officer (or what ever you guys fight in your chronicles) Adjust the benefit of those fangs accordingly.

For the T-rex:

Yeah that dex is high, as for the natural armor, elephants get natural armor, I imagine something that's 40 feet long having equally if not greater skin thickness (scales, after all)

As for that size, what's the length of a 18 wheeler in WoD, those things are larger than a Trex, so if it's 15, then the size should be 12.

Remember that player still needs to rack up the successes to be a size 20 animal. And if he can do it, then a watered-down-slightly more-deadly polar bear in Trex form is a rude slap in the face.

By the way, are you using any combat hacks?

Ok, i've made some homework.

The smilodon had only 1/3 of the bite power of today lion and tigers.  However, he was able to open is mouth up to 120 degres.

Also, his tooth where has resistant as today, wich was fine since his power to bite was less.  His tooth where durable indeed.

He was a little less agile... in the sense of nimble... but was more athletic, more stable, and more powerful to jump and wrestle large preys.  His legs where more powerful and his claws a little longer and durable.

---

The giant short face bear was almost 12 feet tall with a weight of around 2500 lbs.

He was more powerfull and agressive than todays polar bear, yet, was far more agile than todays bears, builded a little like a cat, he was even able to outrun a horse !  His sense of smell was also more evolve.

Ill take a look on those stats when ive got more time.

Feel free to give me some inputs and stuff.

Thanks.
