Hi all!
I'm new to the game and I'm preparing to run the demo.
I have a question: if a Daeva's vice is Gluttony, does he lose willpower any time he stops before drinking his victim to the death?

Would a character with Gluttony gain willpower any time he did drink his victims to death?

"Your character regains one spent Willpower point whenever he indulges in his addiction or appetites at some risk to himself or a loved one."

Short answer is no.  First of all, you'd need to be a Glutton for blood.  Just like with Lust, you have to pick something your vice applies to.  Nobody is a glutton for everything. Secondly, you need to risk something in order to fulfill your vice, and unless hiding a body is especially problematic for you, then its not really a risk.

Just remember with the Daeva flaw, the character only loses willpower from refraining in an activity if he'd otherwise gain a willpower from doing it.

Would you give a Daeva with Gluttony a point of willpower for drinking someone to death?   Generally, the answer is no.   There's lots of ways for a Daeva to be gluttonous without drinking someone dry - multiple feedings, for instance.   Or maybe that gluttony takes the form of a preference for alcohol or drug-filled blood.

Or maybe the Daeva insists on feeding until they completely fill their blood pool.

WOD Core book pg 104:
"Y our  character  regains  one  spent  W illpower  point whenever he indulges in his addiction or appetites at some risk to himself or a loved one."

That's the only time that Gluttony the game trait applies not to every type of gluttonous behavior at all times.  Meaning to stop drinking to not kill his vessel isn't a violation of the game trait.  However to not feed from an easy target because their is a group of hunters nearby probably would.  Basically for the Vice to be put into effect there has to be a risk involved either to themselves or to someone close to them.
