His Virtue suppression doesn't interact with the Virtue styles, any more than any other character's would.

It does do something it wouldn't do for most other characters: it downgrades the Virtue Style Charms that involve Virtue rolls from super crazy 10-threshold results to "merely" five dice.

Not that that will cut off access to his perfect defense or anything.

Indeed - i always felt they knew all their solar charms and used the knowledge to open the road to mirror effects and from that to truly Abyssal charms. But knowing - and in consequence having the capacity to serve as a valid tutor on them for overly ambitious solars - is not the same as being able to use solar charms, meaning i felt very pleased indeed with that particular statement. :P
Wait, are you saying that Deathlords cannot use ANY Solar Charms, or that they simply cannot use the Solar version of a charm when a mirror version is available?

Is the Deathlord knowledge of Solar Charms only serve to fulfill prerequisites for cherry picking Abyssal charms?

Deathlords can use any Solar Charm they knew that does not have an Abyssal Mirror or the Holy Keyword.  The special effects are often altered to fit their thematic better though, and they can't learn new ones.

I laughed at White Reaper Style. Been waiting a long time for that. It being popular in Authocthonia just makes me picture KOS-MOS with her scythe. It's a happy place.

So, Shion is one of those thaumaturgical engineer heroic mortals who put KOS-MOS and her Charms together? With some MA Charms and a mortal-accessible artifact?

I deeply enjoyed the Eshamati reference in Maidens, as I am currently using that particular critter in my Infernal game to great effect. It was well executed.

I also like Violet Bier of Sorrows sharing form weapons with Sapphire Veils of Passion, if only because it made the Signum based character I was working on learn Charms she'd never admit to in public.

Well, the Virtue styles as well as general spirit charms actually have virtue requirements, so if his suppression neutralized his virtue it would also prevent the activation of those charms. I think his suppression "only" drops him to 5 though, so it is not that big a deal ... until somebody whips out VBoS form or a Black Widow Razor analog.

Spirit Charms do not have Virtue minimums in second edition.  See The Roll of Glorious (ugh) Divininty 1.

Also, suppressing a Virtue does not alter its rating.  It only broadens the range of actions a character can take without rolling to check his Virtue compulsion.

Temperance indicates that you might have some Divine Subordination Charms, in no case are you required to have Temperance at any level to have Divine Subordination of Ability.

Huh, that actually ... Kinda Sucks, having the spirit  powers defined by their virtues was a rather cool mechanic.

And having powers that are thmatically apropirate for a ety that you can't give them without modifying the personality of that deity until it makes no sense was not cool.
