I haven't really delved too deeply into lunars(or anything else really, but especially not lunars), but one of the reoccuring themes I see from their interactions with solars is that they kept the solars grounded before things went off the rails in the late first age.  I was wondering if it might have been possible to create a charm that upgrades Sun and Moon Method to use the enhanced link for other things which reaffirm this role.  The first thought was something like making a social attack against your lunar mate to pass them any of your existing derangements, letting them be crazy for you so you can go forth and be a shining happy god-king to your people.  That morphed into the idea of using it to transfer points of limit to them for the same reason, perhaps as an unrealized side effect of the first effect.  This would tap into another theme that seems to dominate the history of the sun and moon's chosen, which would be arrogant abuse of the helpmates and companions...but I'm not sure how sacrosanct limit is in this regard.  Obviously a charm to just manipulate limit is out of the question, but would it as a side effect be a tenable idea?

I suggest you read up on Lillith.  She's where the leash leads.

Lilith's story, tragic as it is, is one of the things that put that second theme in my head to begin with.  I like the idea of her mate not only raving madly at her and so forth, but actually raving madly at her until she was nuts and he was sane.

Err, I don't think Desus could really be described as sane.

Sure he is. Just ask him. He'll tell you.

I try, but whenever I tell someone where I'm going, I remember just how awesome he is. I heard he once gave an entire orphanage puppies!

Pity he threw them at the orphanage from 3 miles away. Still the kids seemed really happy when they heard they were getting puppies!

Well yes, all of agocenter village 11425 (the location of the orphanage in question) was short on meat for a long time before that happened.  The whole village was thrilled!  Especially after the Great Shining One decided to take that 17 year old away from the orphanage!  I mean she was so old nobody wanted to adopt her!

What a guy!

I don't know where you get your information, but that's ridiculous.  17 year olds aren't allowed to stay at the orphanage, since they're certainly old enough to get jobs on their own as maids.  She was fourteen, too old to get adopted but to young to carry a grown woman's burden of caring for herself.

Yea, I didn't want to go that far into the Creepy Factor.

... and now I've got "Girl, you'll be a woman soon" stuck in my head.  so very very disturbing.

The Sidereals have a charm like this called Loyalty-Sacrificing Sidestep.  It basically transfers the effect of any successful social attack to an acquaintance instead of the Sidereal.  Could be a good framework for you to write a Solar charm with comparative effects, obviously targeting their Lunar mate.

Personally I'm of the persuasion that there shouldn't be a way to negate the effects of gaining limit, hell I'm even hesitant to play around with Solar charms that effect limit at all, but I'm honestly not really sure what direction I would take this idea.

I must be the only person on the universe who blames that relationship on Lilith :P

Yeah, but Desus did.  (He probably was also pretty good at directing movies.)

So does Desus, so you're not alone.

Actually a solar character of mine felt the same - a high-compassion night caste made a victim of their domestic problem by way of Eclipse oaths and trusting too much the wrong exalts.

And no matter how much he would try to sabotage and mess up things among her and Desus to allow her escape and spite, she would always fold and come back, causing the solar's first age incarnation no small amount of angst as he knew everything about her problem but could not reveal it to anyone.

It even lead to some interesting confrontations between the my Night and Lilith over a young eclipse called Swan in our game. "Kill him or leave him but you will not begin that anew - Desus is dead, let him stay dead and live your own life this time." ;)

The Night did take a considerable beating Essence 5 and sidereal MA be damned but managed to get them apart and the undesired role of Swan's patron.
