Am I the only one who hopes people will use Ignis Divine rather then Sol Invictus?

As for Myself I have it that Both the Unconquered Sun and Malfeas' Original Fetish were Both Unconquered Suns back in the olden days.  His Fetich was not Conquered in Battle but executed and Ignis Divine was free to take the title solely for himself.

Also if I go with my meaning of Helios meaning Holiest of Holy then my ideas for the Red Star Anthelios has certain implications...

Hey I didn't say it was Canon.  Specifically make a departure from canon at several points at my game.  Like with simultaneous paranoid Solars being coincidentally the Architects of the Usurpation, and the existence of Splinter worlds existing out of Creation but merging back with it at the time of tumult.

So, what, Moon, Yellow Planet, Blue Planet, Red Planet, Green Planet, Purple Planet?

Yeah, I guess I'm being silly.

You might say Ignis Divine if you were very familiar with the Sun and addressing him with sarcasm, or speaking sarcastically. It takes on the tones of "your majesty." "I would gladly do my duty if Ignis Divine would get up from the Games long enough to sign this warrant." You might also use it in serious tones, speaking formally, as you were a priest, or an attendant, or servant of the Unconquered Sun. Again, it takes the form of "your majesty" in speech. Another alternative would be "The Most High."

If you were a bard, a historian, or simply a Solar telling an inspired story, you might speak of him as the Guarding Star or the Once-Guarding Star (in tones of awe or respect, but in lieu of conveying a fact to your audience).

You might simply use the Unconquered Sun when speaking of him as a foreign concept, an abstract deity, a known quantity (this might be the form of address used by someone who knows what the UCS is but otherwise doesn't give a fig).

There aren't many great options for an informal way of speaking to or referring to the Unconquered Sun, because having a personal relationship with the UCS on that level seems almost infathomable. However, Luna and the Maidens would all feel comfortable enough to use formal / sarcastic and informal / personal modes of speech to speak with him, so short and lovingly irreverent turns of nomenclature would apply. Sol, Ignis, Helios, et al.

Personally I have an irreverant and infuriating Solar who refers to him as "Uncle Sun."

I've always seen The Unconquered Sun as his title, never his proper name. Ignis Divine could go either way, and I'll surely use it sometimes.

But Sol Invictus sounds more like a proper name (and the Latin matches Luna). I'm not about to stop using it as such.

Besides Helios I also use Katanka Sonnak for the Sun, and Sokhta and the Lambent Lady as titles for Luna

Could be worse... As a player I had an over-the-top cutesy blood thirst evil dragonblooded.  So everyone got knicknames.  When the great Solars of the group were talking about UC, she decided to start calling him Mr.Shine... because calling him Sun was too informal.

Clearly one of the Defilers in my game is related to her since she does the exact same thing.

I was never found of people using Sol Invictus for the Sun... it just bugged me for some reason.

Probably because you are unfamiliar with the poem Invictus. Ignis Divine is shit-tastic.

You're entitled to your opinion, and we're entitled to make fun of you.  I mean, respect it.
