So, I didn't expect new Thaumaturgy in Glories, but I'm glad we got it.

From the UCS's book, I loved the one that lets you pray for a Hero and nearby Solars hear that.  I'm not totally sure that gold dowsing should be a Master ritual though.  Orichalcum dowsing, ok, sure, but gold?

The Luna book had some fun Alchemy rituals and I'm already working on adding the next logical step there.  River-Washed Memories creeped me the heck out.

From the Maidens' book, we finally now have marriage, divorce, birth, and death rites which is really, really useful.  I also liked the Battle Sanctifying ritual and the Hiding Things ritual.

All around pretty cool.

I'm okay with its level, I just think it should be in Geomancy, not Husbandry.

Just wow. The ritual to forget sins + a fiend. So much potential for treachery.
Unfortunately, the best we had the opportunity to do was perform triage on the Deathlord Issue by way of firing gauze and surgical tools at it out of a bow from down the street. - Holden Shearer, about fixing the Deathlords' write up in GotMH

I am confused how the first batch of Charms are Husbandry.  I am guessing it was a mistake, and as Rafilar said should be in Geomancy maybe.
It is a time for great deeds.

Great way to plausibly bring four Solars together in a dusty little town with troubles to kick off a series.

Thaumaturgy that can make you fabulously wealthy with a few successful applications? I'd say master.

I'm glad someone likes the thaumaturgy. They're kind of a footnote next to all the other awesome in there, but I really like how they turned out.

I was glad to see new Thaumaturgy in there. People often scoff at it as weak, but it can actually be quite useful.

I thought it was quite an impressive collection.

Question for Holden (I assume he is the writer) on A Canticle for Hope, aka Save Me Obi-Wan Solar.

This calls to all Solars within 100 miles.  It was also created in the First Age.  So does it also call to Abyssals and/or GSPs?  Could a version be made specifically to call to each of those groups?

Oooh.  I now imagine a Twilight creating a Terrestrial-alerting version of the Canticle, teaching it to a bunch of followers, and having them all set up in a circle ninety miles outside of the Lap.

1:00 in the morning, all the Terrestrials in the Lap get a call from 90 miles due east of the city.
1:20, a call from due south.
1:40, a call from due north
2:00, another call, from due west.
2:20; a pair of near-simultaneous calls from southeast and southwest.
4:30, just as everybody thought it was over, six calls, equally spaced around the Lap.

Of course, by the time the Terrestrials sent to follow up on this stuff get there, the Solar's pranksters are long gone.

They're not Solars, so no.

I guess you could theoretically put together a version that calls out to them, but who on earth would want to attract the attention of an Abyssal?

Depends on your intentions.  There are at least as many good reasons to lure them in and jump them as there are for Solars.  Maybe more...

Mmm.

Remember that you can't use that ritual to just drunk dial Solars-- the person enacting it has to be in genuine distress and need of help.

(Of course, villains can still lay traps by putting the user in position where they do indeed need help)

True, but a similar ritual for Abyssals might have different parameters.

Perhaps the person performing it has to genuinely be offering innocents for the slaughter - something you can certainly do if you don't care weather they survive or not so long as the Abyssal doesn't.

People who really want to die?

I can see the "Call the GSP" slightly more popular... slightly

Are you joking? Cecelyne's Charms alone would give people incentive to call the GSP's frequently, as long as they don't know the catch. And anybody who knows those charms would make sure they never would. Add in SWLiHN and Malfeas Will Breaking charms too break the will of, and then brainwash, a number of mortals, and the Malfeas marking charm, and you can get Cult/Followers/whatever 5 in a week or two, and spread the word far and wide. And with that one SWLiHN charm that replaces language, you can do it to any mortal, and then counter-magic to return their original language, thus allowing you to send the word everywhere.

Not to mention the Adorjan and Edon Dragon charms, which are really good a screwing people over. Set things up right, and you can make use of that to scew over peoples enemies...for a price.

In the Second Age? A smart GSP could have non-stop calls within a month.
