It was a while since your last vacation and your boss finally approved a two week leave. You decide that you need to be somewhere warm with a beach. On your first day you get everything needed; sunscreen, towel, new suit, and a cheap chair to last you for your trip. As you are laying in your chair near the water, a wave comes washing over you, soaking you. You don't care, the water felt good. All of a sudden you realize somehing is touching your leg and you shake it off. Then a woman starts screaming and you realize that it was a bitten off human hand. The worst part being that the bite marks are not from a shark, but appear to be human in nature.

BTW I'm an indie film maker, i definitely want to expand on some of this ideas, they are great. I'll contact the author when this happens, just one thing, by indie film maker i also mean "zero budget i get everything borrowed and spend money of my own into production" film maker. Which means "no payment for ideas", but well... i can pay with screen credits and invitations if accepted in festivals!! :P LOL

Looks like someone finally answered my calls of a film adaption of the Chilling Images entries listed here...(I guess if these entires were made into films if done right, I guess these could be the scariest films ever made and ten times better than most horror films out today....)

Anyway here's more Chilling Images style videos...(perhaps these films could inspire you...)

I've been diabetic all my life. I never thought it odd that I had to regularly draw and test my own blood, even when the other kids at school made fun of me for it. I'm used to the calluses on my finger tips from all the pricks to get my blood flowing, and I know that sometimes I'll need to prick my fingers two or three times before the crimson-black liquid flows. I pull out my test kit and prick my pointer finger, nothing comes out. Middle finger, nothing. Ring, pinky, thumb - nothing comes out. I've never had to prick myself this many times.. what's wrong with me? I try the fingers on my other hand and still nothing. I roll up my sleeves and try to prick at the veins in my wrist, not sure if it will work...still nothing comes out of me. I can feel the pain as I attempt to draw my blood from various places on my body but I can't bleed. Anxious, panicked and desperate I reach into my jeans' pocket and pull out my knife as I feel my heart pumping wildly. I drag the blade across my wrist slitting the artery - it's hollow. I can feel my heart beating in my chest, though... this doesn't make any sense... what is my heart pumping? Where did all my blood go?!

I enjoyed this thread in it's initial incarnation. Thought I should add to this new version.

Variations on Theme - Fortune Cookies

Images:

• A fortune cookie with a blank fortune inside.

• A fortune cookie with only a time and date stamped on the strip of paper. Its today's date, 5 minutes from now.

• A fortune cookie, blanked on the inside and filled with ash.

• A fortune cookie full of human teeth.

Scene:

Your friends are all sitting down at the end of the meal, arguing over the bill as you open your fortune cookie. You prepare to read it aloud, adding "in bed" for the usual juvenile humor. But the fortune only says 3.
Ed, "What kind of fortune is '2'?"
    Samanthan, "Mine says '1'."
You turn to Rick, ready to warn him not to open his, but he hasn't been paying attention. He's been adding up the bill. Absentmindedly he cracks open his cookie...

Here's another Chilling Images worthy scene I found from David Lynch's film "Mulholland Drive"...

Did you know your heart stops for just a moment when you sneeze?
Yeah, just a moment. You die for just a moment.
You also close your eyes when you sneeze, infact its almost impossible to keep them open.

Its your body's self defense mechanism for the shit you'd see for being dead for just a moment.

There is a radio station in town. Well, I mean its not in town. If you tune the radio in your car to just the right frequency you can barely get it. It almost sounds like a news report, and if you can listen real hard, the man, the Reporter, is talking about you. He talks about your life, ambitions and what may happen to you.

The thing is... it only works when one person is listening. If you bring a friend over and turn it on, all you hear is white noise and something that could vaguely be called screaming in the background.

Weird.
Don't put it in your mouth...

Naturally the most chilling image to me would be something that really happened.  I live alone and just moved into an apartment in a new city.  So I submit to you a true story:

23-Aug-09 3:00am

To set the tone for my encounter I must tell you somethings I didn't realize until well into the next day. The Night before this incident I was awoken from a dead sleep from a crash in the room. I was startled, worried and alert. I turned on the light and gave the room a once over listening for any further noise. Being three in the morning there was silence, I turned off the Air Conditioner still mindful of intruders and went to bed not knowing what caused the sound. The next day around 5:00pm in the evening I noticed my snowman doll on the floor. This snowman is a memento mori, it was loving crafted by my aunt in memory of my long gone great grandmother and cousin. It was made from her quilt and his pajama "farkle" pants, some of the last mementos my aunt had of them. She crafted one for each close family group, I think 6 in all but I am not exact in this number. The snowman is normally right of the bed on the entertainment center overlooking the room and facing away from the walk in closet and bathroom, doors I always keep closed. I thought it was unusual but shook it off.

24-Aug-09 2:55am

I went to bed at 10:30pm last night. I woke at 1:00am because I was feeling overheated and needed to use the bathroom. I turned on the AC and went back to bed. In my dreams, the last one I could remember was very much a waking dream. A night terror/hag in which I was unable to move my body. I thought I was awake as the room looked as it always does at night in the dark. I saw a well of darkness consuming the bathroom door as if it had been opened. In the darkness I saw movement and heard a dog growl as if it were going to attack. I remember thinking that it could have come in through the large mirror in the bathroom. I tried to yell, to call out, shout or force myself to wake up but I was unable to. I heard myself moaning in my sleep, I remember trying to say "this fucking shit" and it coming out as a moan. I was unable to speak but I was still about to move. I sat up quickly and attempted to turn on the lamp next to my bed. I remained calm and did not let the terror gripping me to cause me to do anything stupid or cowardly. I was turning my fear into anger very quickly and as I predicted the lamp did not turn on. In frustration and rage I yanked the lamp out of the outlet and carried it to the darkness. In the darkness static electricity danced across the carpet near the movement of this medium sized dog shadow, its true profile and dimensions I could only guess at in the darkness. It was almost amorphous, made of shadow or entirely concealed by it. I swung the lamp through the darkness aimed down at the carpet and in the small flashes of static electricity I could see the darkness fading and no dog occupying the area. I heard the growls in the blackened bathroom fade as the thing retreated unharmed.

I only vaguely felt my true body still in bed as I did this and as soon as the dog had retreated I half managed or automatically returned to my body and control was relinquished to me. I lay in bed in the dark for several minutes looking at the corner where the commotion had occurred and noted the bathroom door was closed and the corner looked normal if not still quite ominous. I turned on my lamp delighted that it was not on the floor and filled the room with warm orange light immediately. I cautiously went into the bathroom and used it again noting the time but not making any connections.

I lay in bed for awhile with the light on allowing myself to calm and get ready for sleep again. I was frightened, frustrated and a little bit confused about the scenario. It had felt quite real despite even after waking up. My mind had been sharp and alert. I didn't notice it right away but I was zoning out on the memento on top of the TV, my little snowman with it's button eyes seemed animate but dead at the same time. As I shook myself out of it and decided I could sleep again I turned out the light and rolled over. Less than a minute later I jump out of my skin, yet remain mostly motionless as a thwack fills the apartment. The glow of the vcr, rf moduator, and alarm clock right above my head blink off and then back on as the power resets. My clock starts flashing 12:00 with a green glow blinking in the room and a chorus of frightened dogs fill the perfectly silent night with their barking....

I turn on the light again, really weirded out again, actually I was terrified,... and reset the clock and it's alarm for the morning. I refuse to look at the snowman again as I turn out the light. As I stared at the entertainment center I saw that the vcr light and modulator light were in perfect alignment and the red lights looked more and more like burning red eyes as I looked at them. I angrily ignored them and rolled over.

I guess a lot about this incident bothers me. Did I somehow predict the power and the dogs barking with my imagery of the growling dog in the night with dead lamp and power going out? Was this a Black Dog? A death omen which has always been associated with darkness and lightning? Does this death omen tie in with my momento? Is someone close to me in danger, me maybe, or am I just loosing it? Feel free to give me your thoughts.

Here's some articles to make you think:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_dog_(ghost)

Ever since then I worry about my family far away, some aren't in the best of help.  The sound of dogs in my apartment at night makes me think of this incident.  And whenever I look at that snowman late at night, even with lights on, I swear the thing looks more animate, like its looking at me.  Sometimes stuff isn't where I put it... I wonder about the history of this apartment sometimes, or what I might have taken with me from home.

You've always had this sense about you when you slept.  You would always wake up a few moments before the phone or alarm clock would go off, it never failed.  You'd wake up at midnight wondering why you were awake when your friend would send you a text causing your phone to buzz on the night stand.  Your friends say you're conditioned to when your supposed to wake up, but you argue that even when you set it for weird times, like catching an early morning plane, you still awaken a minute or two before the alarm beeps.  This morning you forgot to set the clock to the correct time, you needed to get up about a half an hour early to make a meeting, and yet you still wake up right around the time it would have gone off if it had been set.  Your grateful that you are going to make the meeting and as you rise to get ready the alarm goes off anyways....

Brothers
Once upon a time, there was a little boy, and that little boy was very bad. Not like his brother at all, who was good and sweet and kind and never misbehaved. One day, the little boy hit his brother very hard in the head for always being better, and when he died came crawling over to drink the blood from his broken head. It filled him up with goodness and light, and he forgot about all the terrible things he did.

Until today, going through your family scrapbook, looking for some damning evidence that will explain why the Empty Man is hurting you and your friends, why he sings dark rhymes that remind you of the musty old attic in your house. The picture was stuck in the margin - two little boys, one dark-haired, one fair, standing together in front of your house.

How could you have forgotten that you had a brother?

Lullaby
He's so sweet, to sing your kids to sleep. It's only a second date but he insisted on coming home to meet them. At least, that's what you thought, until you passed him leaving the bathroom in the hall. Like a nightmare, everything was moving in slow motion as you ran to their bedroom...but no one was there.

Just the family dog, a German Shepherd that weighs more then you do, looking up at you now with wet and alien eyes.
The truth is, you will never find the truth. Each shadow conceals only more shadows.
