RE: Duncan MacLeod

I did the stats for Duncan a few month's before Immortals hit the streets, and not owning the book I really have only the vaguest idea what a "Harvester" is (but they do sound nasty).  I was working from a "Highlander-Style Immortal as Template" Idea and trying to come up the mechanics whole cloth.Sometimes I have more fun spinning a mechanic out of whole cloth rather than using/modifying an exiting template.
That being said; If I were to re-do the write up I would include things from Amory:Re-Loaded.

RE: Big Trouble in Little China

Good Write up for Jack. I was going to do Lo Pan and Egg Shen but hit a case of writers block. I'm having a hard time determining what exactly Lo Pan would be using WoD mechanics. Ghost? Spirit? Or maybe just a powerful spellcaster with a unique curse? And if you write him up as a spell caster, what type/system? Thaumaturge (Second Sight), Awakened (Mage), Gutter Magic (Hunter), or something different? This same problem applies to Egg Shen (like figuring out the mysterious power of the Six-Demon Bag).  I haven't decided on anything good yet.
For the other major characters, Wang Chi is a pretty straitfoward martial artist and the Three Storms could be easily represented as materialised Spirits or Spirit-Claimed martial artists.

Were I to stat up Lo Pan and Egg Shen, I'd do it this way:

-Lo Pan would a ghost with unsual numina to showcase his powers and the ability to become flesh (albeit a crippled old man)
-Egg Shen would a second sight Thaumaturge of the Taoist Alchemist Tradition loaded up on tha alchemy merits to make potions and such. His six demon bag would likely be a relic with specific powers or possibly a bonafide mage artefact (whom thaumaturges are allowed to use according to Second Sight even if they aren't mages)
Can Truth be perceived or are our minds closed to it forever by our mortal failings? It is impossible to know, but the quest never ends and perhaps someday a flicker of these things will be perceived...

Would love to see the kids from the goonies stated up. I think they would go great with an Innocents game.

I always thought of the Six Demon bag as a potion of Heroism akin to DnD, though I never thought about it's WoD equivalent.

I'll have to think on the Goonies, though I've seen the hell out of that movie, I'd really have to think on it

Any ideas for the characters from DeathNote? Personally every interested in seeing a write-up for L

I've watched the show but I don't know it well enough about L or Light to stat them

How about some Goonie Love... I thought on it for a little bit, thought I stated what I saw

GOONIES

Mikey

Fortitude - He was the boldest and the bravest, because he believed in something.  He had a confidence about him.
Pride - He bit off more then he could chew and he was sort of annoying

Academics ((or studying, if you go by innocents rules)) 2 (town history) He seemed to be well versed at all the pirate shit

Chunk
((I can't remember the Fat kids name for shit now.  Truffle Shuffle boy.  Cancel that... I remember))

Prudence - Out of all the kids he was the only one that actually tended to think about the repercussions of their actions
Sloth - Sometimes his prudence came out of cowardice.  He was the most cautious of the group but he was also the one that was scared of everything

Subterfuge 2 (lies) ((He was a good liar, the only thing that gave him away was that he made his lies to big

Data((I couldn't remember his name either... though I watch this movie at least once a year.  Maybe his name was Data)

Faith - He had complete faith in his gadgets like they were his limbs
Lust - He seemed to be unnaturally fascinated with his devices or making up new ones

Craft2(devices) ((he was awesome with making devices, even though they only worked half the time))

Mouth

Justice
Lust (girl crazy)

Persuasion2

Sloth
((The Retard))

Str5
Dex2
Stam4

Int1
Wits1
Res2 ((He didn't have much of his own will, but he had enough to know his family was evil

Pres1
Man1
Comp2

Athletics3 (breaking things)
Brawl3

Merits - Strong back

Flaw - Hiddeous Anyway from the Promethan book.  He gets bonus to intimidate for being so ugly

for your Redfern and Warlock writeup, I would like to provide  you with some information on which you can revise them both with. I have the Movie Tie-In novel that the original script was based off of and it is VASTLY diffrent than the movie and includes awhole lot of scenes that didnt make it.  The book also includes some backstory to Redfern and The Warlock and right now as it is The Warlock needs some other abilities and merits/flaws that he is missing and Redfern is almost the same, BUT it reveals that he was a Witch Hunter and had caught The Warlock I think it was 2 other times before he finally escaped and raped and killed Marian, Redferns wife.

tell me what pages you would need and I would be glad to either scan or type them out..

Re: Warlock

ORLY?

That sounds very interesting. The original Warlock is a personal favorite of mine in the campy horror genre, and I would be rather interested in reading the novelization just for my own curiosity. Being able to expand the character  write ups would just be a bonus. Would you happen to know if copies of the novel are  available somewhere, or am I going to have to start sacrificing things?

Is where I got mine from. I payed $ 4.00 for it and that was with S&H and took 5 days to get to my place by USPS. I forget how I found out about the book, but I was stunned to say the least, and the only review of the book is correct. It was worth the price.

And not to spoil anything, I will leave you with this, Redfern said this about The Warlock: " He is ahero among his kind, nobody knows how old he really is or even his real name anymore, he just goes by The Warlock now. He was also favored among the Demonic to be granted certian attributes that most normal warlocks or witches would not be granted."

He really wasnt someone to be messed with in the movie, but the book version is far more nastier..

Also, here is the COMIC version !!!!!

I've been watching all the Califorications on Netflix, and I was like Hank Moody is worth stating.

Hank Moody

Str2
Dex3 ((He's pretty nimble, the shear amount of drinks he dodges that gets throwen in his face can show you that))
Stam2

Int3 ((He's a smart dude, and he writes books))
Wits4 ((He's really Witty, and rarely without a snappy line.  It's up there with his best score))
Res2 ((He's not really all that strong willed except in the case of his ex girlfriend))

Pres5 ((This is his best score by far.  I've watched this show and he literally doesn't have to flirt with women they just want to fuck him for no reason whatsoever.  I'd almost dare to say he has Majesty 2.  He's what you would call encourageable, he's so damn loveable he can flirt with his Ex girlfriend in front of the fiance with the fiance just shrugging it off, and that was like every episode))
Man3 ((He's good at it but he doesn't really attempt it that much
Comp4 ((He's like a zen master, and the only reason I couldn't give him a 5 is because he has a soft spot for his family and tends to overreact.  He gets his brand new Porsche stolen, with the only copy of his new book in it and all he does is light a cigarette and walk it off.))

Academics3 (he's good enough to teach classes)
Politics1
Investigate1

Athletics1(He makes so much sexy time it's default)
Brawl2 (He seems to end up starting a lot of fights, though I wouldn't say he was that good, just good enough not the embarrass himself)
Stealth2 (He seems like he's always sneaking in or out of someone's house, whatever the reason... slept with some he shouldn't or other)
Larceny1
Drive1

Animal Ken1
Empathy3 (women)
Persuasion2 (women)(seduction) (I think he's good at this, but he doesn't seem to persuade men at all)
Socialize3 (women)(jokes)
Expression4 (writing) (jokes) ((He's established as an excellent writer, but he has issues with the quantity of his work, he takes about 7 years to produce novels.  Also he's telling jokes like a mile a minute)
Streetwise1 (He knows somethings)
Subterfuge1 ((He doesn't really have a poker face)

Merits - Striking Looks +1, Fast Reflexes +2, Allies1 (Agent) Resources2

Virtue -  Charity - I think out of all the things he does, at his core he wants to help people out even if he gets in trouble to do it.  Even though he hated the little girl that stole his book if she seemed to be in trouble he wouldn't hesitate to help her.  A guy who looks down on his luck asks for a 1000 dollars for his guitar Hank gives him 13,000 just to help him out.

Vice - Lust - This wasn't as easy a decision as I first thought.  It's like if someone just gets women handed to them are they really a womanizer or are they just opportunist.  Hank gets woman that want him, but in the end I think the fact that he sort of goes for the ones he wants aggressively factors into my decision to rank him Lust.

One last note as far as Redferne and The Warlock go..

After reading the book and watching all 3 movies, Redferne feared him ONLY after The Warlock's power had been increased by reading half of The Grand Grimore. In the book it gives better examples of how much his power had increased.  He also never got a chance to read all of it due to the last part being on hollowed ground.

ALSO both Redferne and The Warlock knew the truth about what The Grand Grimore could do as you already know. Also The Warlock was chosen out of all the other evil magic users because of well he was a real evil bastard. There really is no sugar coating it.

To also clear up anything, both Redferne and The Warlock were well stunned at 20th century America. The Warlock thought he was in a place ruled by "magic" made for people like him, though he thought this was "hell" and was dissapointed that there was no fire and brimstone. Redferne was just well stunned, especally with the tv's. The Warlock was also amused at these so called "death metal bands" and how they had all these symbols of power and did not know how to use them, Illusionists like say Criss Angel or such as he did show one what real magic was and a spiritualist.

Also both of them felt more at home in the Menninite farm as it reminded them of 17th century New England. Redferne also quickly deduced that The Warlock was sent here because this is the 20th century, where Science trumps Sorcery and nobody would believe him. They thought he was a nut job. Only those that knew the old stories and ways like The Farmer, Redferne, Kassandra and The Priest before he was pressured into narcing on them knew the truth. Also his victims did, but only one of them survived not counting the farmer.

Redfern was a Witch Hunter, even before The Warlock. It's what he did. As for his wife, Ok Flash back to the opening of Warlock, The Warlock had been captured and was awaiting execution for killing Redferne's wife among other acts a week before the opening scene.  As for The 2 Druid Warriors and I think her name was Kate in the third one, they did not exactly fear him as well they could match his dark supernatural power with their light supernatural power. Also her descendant's mother, the one that imprisoned The Warlock was a Woman of The Wise. She was not fooled by ANY of his tricks and her only mistake was grabbing the wrong knife to kill him, when she should have grabbed her own.

Anyway well thats about it as im not going to spoil the rest for you, but some of that stuff was common sense and was already known. I just expanded on it. I look foward to seeing your updated writeups on them if you get around to it.

Well as far as John goes, there are several comics about the early life of The Winchester clan, so it could be there, also there is a really cool guide to the critters out that I happen to have. If anyone wants it, drop me a line and I will send it to them.

Hellboy
This write up is based on Hellboy as presented in comics and film

Virtue: Fortitude: Hellboy takes everything in stride, and faces world destroying menaces with a crack of his knuckles and a dry remark.
Vice: Wrath; Hellboy has the temper and the rebellious, contrary attitude of a human teenager

Strength 8, Dexterity 3, Stamina 8
Intelligence 3, Wits 4, Resolve 5
Presence 3, Manipulation 2, Composure 3

Hellboy is superhumanly strong and tough, and surprisingly agile as well. He is bright, but not exactly intellectual, thinks well on his feet, and has unshakable resolve. He is charismatic in a guff manner, but lacks the patience or finesse for manipulation and is moody and prone to losing his cool from time to time.
Suggested Combat Hacks for the Hellboy setting include; Toughness Matters, Valiant Surge

Merits of Note:  Allies (Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, BPRD), Ambidextrous, Brawling Dodge, Contacts (Paranormal), Danger Sense, Fame 2, Fast Reflexes 2, FS: Aggressive Striking 5, FS: Grappling 3, FS Heavy Sword 3, FS: Improvised Weapons 2, Giant, Heavy Hands, Iron Stamina, Multi Lingual, Professional Training (Occultist) 4,  Quick Healer, Status 4 (BPRD), Strong Back, Strong Lungs, Technophile (Relic Weapons), Unseen Sense (Demons), Well Traveled

Skills of Note:  Academics 3 (History), Animal Ken 2 (Cats), Athletics 4 (Climbing, Leaping, Endurance), Brawl 4, Crafts 2 (Jury Rigging), Drive 2, Firearms 2 (Revolver), Intimidation 3, Investigation 4 (Paranormal), Larceny 3, Medicine 1(First Aid, Non-Human), Occult 4 (Artifacts, Banes, Enchantment, Exorcism, Haunting), Politics 1(BPRD), Science 2 (Weird), Socialize 2 (Regular Joe), Stealth 3, Streetwise 3, Survival 5,  Subterfuge 2 (Detect BS), Weaponry 3 (Improvised, Swords)

Abilities: Hellboy is the offspring of a human mother and a demon Prince, and his appearance bears the mark’s of that heritage. His powerful demonic nature grants him a Supernatural Resistance of 4; he also gains several other abilities;

Dragons Tongue: Hellboy instinctively understands the language of demons; as well as any ancient and/or magical system of communication.
Durability: Hellboy has shrugged off injury that would cripple or kill a normal human with little discomfort or impairment. Hellboy has Armor 5 [Bulletproof], 2 additional health boxes, and does not check for unconsciousness until his health boxes are filled with lethal damage. In addition he is immune to fire (whether natural or otherwise).
Fearless: Hellboy is immune to any supernatural compulsion that would make him afraid and gains a +4 bonus to resist Intimidation attempts.
Might: Hellboy far stronger and tougher than mortal humans, and has been shown to be capable of uprooting tree’s and hurling vehicles with some effort. These capabilities are reflected in his high strength and stamina attributes. Hellboy can also leap an additional 2 feet per success.
Regeneration: Hellboy is not invulnerable, but recovers from injury at a staggering rate.  He recovers 1 point of bashing damage a round, 1 point of lethal damage every 8 minutes, and 1 point of aggravated damage a day (this already takes into account the benefits of the Quick Healer merit). This rapid healing renders Hellboy immune to mundane illnesses.  In addition, Hellboy has not aged since reaching his physical prime will most likely remain so for the foreseeable future.
Senses: Hell boy’s senses are superhumanly acute, and he gains a +1 bonus to Perception rolls. He can see in the dark and perceive entities in twilight with a resolve +composure roll.

Equipment: Hellboy carries a collection of magical items and charms that aid in combating supernatural forces. He carries any number of 1 to 3 dot blessed items on his person while on a mission, and often carries single use items that can replicate the effects of a Thaumaturgy Merit/Mage Rote.

Good Samaritan: Good Samaritan is an oversized pistol crafted from a melted down church bell and fragments of the true cross. Its bullets are a specially crafted cocktail of materials designed to injure most supernatural creatures. It is a rank 4 Blessed item; its bullets are treated as silver and cold iron, affect ephemeral entities, and deal full lethal damage to creatures resistant or immune to bullets. Samaritans relic nature also makes it immune to conventional damage.
Damage: 4(9 again, Heavy Bore, Hollow Point), Range: 25/50/100, Capacity: 5, Strength 4 (Bulky)

Right Hand of Doom: Hellboys right hand and forearm are a mystic relic that once belonged to an ancient spirit that watched over the earth in early times. It appears to be made out of red stone and is utterly indestructible. Although quite dexterous, the hand’s size limits its usefulness, but makes a devastating bludgeon. Attacks made with the Right Hand grant a +2 (9 Again) damage bonus and ignore 2 points of Armor/Durability. The Right Hand can also affect ephemeral entities.
