Online Forum Mage Game: The Continuing

Those of you who have come over from the old White-Wolf forums may remember a play by post Mage game that had been around for a while. I am starting this thread to continue that mage game, and will do so as soon as my players make the switch. 

Yeah im not in your game and Im sorry for writing here. Just felt like saying that Ive been following it and I think its pretty interesting. Keep it up

OOC: OK, life is good. I can do some work with 2/3. Homunculus feel free to join in whenever you make the switch.

(@ Qadesh) (as I recall you were trying to contact Llewellyn): One ring, come on pick up. Two rings, what if he doesn't pick up? Three things, Oh god, whats happened to him? A noise and then the voice of your mentor, relief, "Please tell me you have good news Qadesh."

(@ Shoney) (You were casting momentary flux and got two successes) You get the usual slight headache as the probability/chaos theory/game theory calculations flash across your vision and download their results straight into your brain. It amounts to an overcomplicated comparison of Y (what you will get out of it) vs X (what you have to give in return). End result?  Y=X, you are going to get as good as you give out of this arrangement. No better no worse.       

"Good and bad, actually.  Good news is we managed to get a bead on the murderer by scrying.  Bad news is, he's headed right for our house, and we're not going to be able to beat him there."

Qadesh holds his phone with his shoulder while grabbing for his coat.  Making eye contact with Thompson, he uses his eyes to motion toward the door.

"I'm gonna damn well try, though."

"Christ, we're not going to be able to back you up. There have been several elemental incidents in the city. Walsh is going nuts about "breaches of the Mysteries," not to mention we have had another five aphasia cases with more popping up by the hour, and this goddamn flood is just making it all worse."

He makes an exasperated noise somewhere between a grunt and a sigh.

"Go after him, but be careful. We do not know what this guy is capable of. Just... just be careful Qadesh. 

Shoney returned her concentration towards South Paw, her face much more serious than before. Sometimes, you just have to trust fate.

"Well, the most I know at the moment is there was a murder of a young woman a couple days ago. She was dumped into the river with signs written on her by a man. He is young. I'd guess in his twenties. He murdered her and before casting her in the river he said a couple cryptic words. I don't know what he said exactly. They weren't in any language I know. A couple hours ago, we were by the river attaining these pieces of information when elementals rose from the river and attacked us," she trying to put out as many details as she dare without drawing the attention of any strangers in the area.

"Your turn," she added with a nod towards South Paw.

"OK, that will do for now. Just so you know, you don't need worry about these louts," he looks around the bar, "this is my bar and these are my People."

Shade looses a low growl Shit, none of them are human, we are completely surrounded!

Southpaw notices, "Easy pooch, this is neutral ground. Just a friendly exchange of information, and if it stays that way then everyone goes home happy."

He takes a pull off his beer and then continues. "Alright any of you been shadow-side in the past couple of days? No? Alright first bit then. The shadow of Chicago is already drowned. The spirit of the Chicago river got hold of some real power and has been pissing and pouring ever since. Flooded the far side of the Gauntlet, completely inundated, soaked, wet, under water, not even enough time to build an ark. Storm over there is so powerful that it is starting to bleed across the Gauntlet, and that is what is going on outside. Storm ain't the only thing bleeding over either, water elementals are getting strong enough to materialize, been hell keeping them under control."

"But the one thing that has been missing this whole time is where the river got the power to pull this off, maybe your guy has something to do with it. He one of your types?"
    

"I will, Llew.  I value my life and soul too much to be stupid, but I'm worried what he might be able to do to us if he gets his hands on our Sanctum and our Hallow."

Pausing in the middle of walking to the door, Qadesh whirls around toward Thompson.

"I just had an idea, we'll scan the image we have of him and email it to you so the Consilium can get try for him if . ." he shrugs ". . well we'll do our best to stay alive anyway."

After hanging up with Llewellyn, Qadesh scans the picture into Thompson's computer and emails the picture to his mentor, while dialing Ivory's number.

Shoney nodded at Southpaw's comment on a simple exchange of information. She dropped a hand and stroked Shade's head, quieting him. She listened to the information carefully, absorbing everything the man said.

"Yeah, he's one of our types," Shoney said with a nod.
