Fan-made Chat Environments

Hey, anyone know if Destiny's Forge has moved somewhere? I miss my old stomping grounds.

It's still there, use the fix listed earlier in this thread to get access for the time being.  If the URL changes, the new one will be posted in this thread.

News update for Destiny's Forge

As many of you may have noticed, the main site has become unavailable once again. It appears the server we had expected to be hosting it a few months longer has decided to stop as of now. No worries though, we are almost done with the new site.

To access a log in to the existing digi-chat use our new site: http://www.exalted-online.com/

Now, as some of you may notice, you won't be able to log into the site or set up a new account; the current site is not finished all the way.  We are expecting after not too long we'll have the DB loaded back in and most of the same features that last site had will be back up and running.  Much kudos to our new tech guy Paul (not Paul PST) for his quick work.

For those interested in returning, I do have a few questions to answer that have been presented on many occasion:

Q: Will there be a setting reset?

A: No, we are planning on keeping the same setting, same characters. The DB we have is about a month old so there will be some backdating but not a whole lot. Everyone will be compensated for the time and such.


Q: Will Infernals be allowed in the future?

A: Yes, it is quite likely we will be including them in our game.


Q: What about the restriction of protagonists and antagonists? Will there be any change?

A: It is a possibility, but we have to see what the new vote from the staff is.


Q: What about icons? Will we still be trapped to male and female icons?


A: No, these will likely be changed once we have the ability to do so.

Adon beat me to it. I was just about to post current information about Destiny's Forge.

However I'll add new information about Bastions of the North.

Bastions of the North has a secondary chat since the V7 one tends to crap when more than 5 people log on. So the chat we use now is here. The folks in charge are working on transferring the main site, forums, dice roller & chat to a new server as Fatcow needs to loose weight.

Heroes of Creation will be underoging a setting reset. By popular vote it will be set in the North, in a trade hub within the territories of the Haslanti League.

However!

Coldsnap is still running! Don't like the comments made about Coldsnap/ Bastions of the North by some the Heroes of Creation staff discourage you from at least checking us out! We may seem inactive and we do offer a play-by-post option! We do have a chat! One does not need a digi!

But what we need is you! We need more players! We want your awesomeness to add to Whitewall, Gethemene & Cherak!

You, the player, and your awesome character is the only element we need more of! We're not going to berate you if you still choose to play characters at Destiny's Forge and Heroes of Creation! We encourage it because they, for the most part, are set in different directions of Creation! And some times playing in a different setting all together can prevent burnout.

Please come check out Bastions of the North! See what bit of awesomeness you can add to our humble setting!

So you managed to recover the characters database? That's good news; last I heard, your tech guy did the ultimate /ragequit and took the entire website and database with him. It got to a point where Eric asked me for the database/website I had written up for Shasta when she wanted to split off from Moirae.

Yes, in fact the Shouri Combat Armor was submitted by Eric. I'm glad you guys got your site back!

I've never played on DF (I dropped off Moira before DF began), but I get to hear about events from Eric :)

Glad to see it up as well. Our new tech guy Paul is doing some amazing work and I am looking forward to what he is bringing back.  As for our database, we were given a copy of it by Jeff before he departed. He didn't rage quit honestly, more stopped enjoying doing this anymore and walked away. Can't blame him too much for it, he had a lot stress on his shoulders.

All in all though, he gave us enough of what we needed.  Things will hopefully be in for a great turn around for Destiny's Forge as we will have almost an entirely new staff, some new players and a new admin (myself) for those who left due to issues with the previous ones. Our ability to view the old character sheets is nearly ready as well, character creation is only a short leap beyond that.

The hope I have is that we can strike DF back up as a place for a new start, fresh relations; even if we are using the same database and setting.

I just ask everyone to give us a chance once we get back up and running. We'd love to have you.

A few years ago there was this site up that had tons of Exalted info. I think it had a chat room attached to it. It was basically a database for custom made charms and whatnot and a place to stick character sheets.

Does anyone know if this place is still alive, or even if anyone remembers it? It existed around the sametime as Lightbringer.net. >.>

Are you talking about Lore 5 and the Exalted Compendium? There is still a Lore5, and the Exalted Compendium Redux, as well as an associated Play By Post forum, as well as a chat.

My friends and I have resently stopped playing altogether. We had a Exalted game runnning for better part of 1y4m once week to twice a month. We played using Skype and a online roller, I would like to continue playing as I have free time for it. Wed/Thur evenings is best for me.

Is there anything like this going on?

exalted-online is getting really, REALLY close to unveiling it's new database access system (within weeks).  LOTS of activities will be triggered with the launching of the system... all of the characters that have been submitted and sanctioned in the last few months will be entered en masse into the database.  Storytellers will be launching numerous storylines suitable for all types and experience levels of characters.

If you've been looking for an online outlet for your Exalted play needs, and haven't looked at this site, now might be the perfect time.  There are extensive rules on what is and is not allowed for character generation, which makes it fairly easy to rpepare a character and get it sanctioned for play.  Getting a character in now means that you'll be ready to rock and roll with the action that rolls out over the next six weeks or so -- I'm really jazzed, and I'm only a PST.

If you were on the old exaltedonline website, you will most likely find your old characters waiting for you, with a chunk of experience to spend as well.

It seems you can't currently create characters at Exalted-Online, is that correct?  I may have missed something there.

The database system will be up any day now... but until then, characters have to be submitted via text format (provided by the STs), and then entered manually by the STs to the system once the database access is up.  XP will be rewarded from the day of sanction, so it is worth going ahead and sanctioning manually now.
