Apparently my Environment and Natural Resources classes are good for inspiring Lunar Charms. Over the past week or so, I outlined a few and finally got around to writing up some of those. Still have some more to write, but here's the first four. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Wounded Salamander Defense

Cost: 3m, 1lhl; Mins: Stamina 5, Essence 3; Type: Reflexive (Step 10)

Keywords: Combo-Ok, Obvious, Gift

Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Halting the Scarlet

When threatened by a predator, salamanders shed their tails and escape while their attacker is distracted with their paltry prize. The pragmatic Steward knows when to make similar sacrifices to prevent greater losses. If an attack inflicts any damage to the Lunar, he may instead activate this Charm to cancel out all consequences of that damage. The injured limb is shed and re-grown immediately. Occasionally more dramatic sacrifices are needed, and the Lunar flays his skin from his own body. Flakes of dried and tattered skin swirl around him for a moment before blowing wherever the wind takes them. This Charm suffers from one of the Four Flaws of Invulnerability

When activated with Deadly Beastman Transformation, this Charm cancels out one level of damage inflicted in Step 10. This does not permit any damage from another attack to be healed.

Exquisite Bowerbird Methodology

Cost: —; Mins: Perception 4, Essence 2; Type: Permanent

Keywords: Combo-Ok

Duration: Permanent

Prerequisite Charms: Any Perception Excellency

While none can compare to the genius of the Twilights, the Stewards can rivalry their artistry with casual ease. The Lunar develops an eye for beauty and naturally constructs any item she crafts with an elegant aesthetic. If, at any stage of a crafting project, the Lunar stunts in a way to emphasize the natural simplicity of her project, the perceived Resource value of the final product is increased by an amount equal to the dice gain from the Stunt. If multiple stunts are used, only the greatest applies. The Lunar may employ primitive methods or harvest natural ingredients which minimize the need for such processes. Items crafted by the Lunar increasingly take on an organic aesthetic.  Those created with 1-die stunts often include animal motives; those created with 3-dice stunts lack any hard angles and seem to have been cultivated rather than crafted. Only supernatural methods of appraisal can recognize the true worth of such an item, if the appraiser considers only functionality rather than aesthetics.

Melodious Lyrebird Serenade

Cost: 4m; Mins: Perception 4, Essence 3; Type: Supplemental

Keywords: Combo-Ok, Social

Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Exquisite Bowerbird Methodology

The savvy Steward knows just want his audience wants to hear. With hardly a thought he chooses his words and body language to appeal to even the most hard-hearted opponent. This Charm supplements any Social attack in which the Lunar stunts. His words are so precisely attuned to the audience that minds melt before them. This Charm imposes a -(Stunt Dice x 2) External Penalty on the target’s Mental Defense Values.

Congress of Birds Mastery

Cost: 5m, 1wp; Mins: Perception 4, Essence 4; Type: Reflexive

Keywords: Combo-Ok, Social, Mandate

Duration: One Action

Prerequisite Charms: Melodious Lyrebird Serenade

Lessons learned from the crafting of a sword or a sonnet may be applied the art of statecraft as well.  While leading a social unit or Dominion, the Steward knows how keep his society so attractive no one can think to leave and many consider emigrating. For the duration of this Charm, if the Lunar stunts an action on behalf of his society, he adds a number of dots equal to the dice received to either his effective Appearance or the Culture of his Dominion. Additionally, for 2- or 3-dice stunts the Willpower needed to resist actions from external forces is decreased by one; and the Willpower others must spend to resist the influences of the Lunar’s society are increased by one.

Scorched Forest Restoration

Keywords: Combo-Ok, Mandate

Duration: Indefinite

Prerequisite Charms: Flaw-Finding Examination

Societies are like forests. They thrive on diversity and flourish when permitted to grow wild and free. Yet the sage Steward knows for the health of the forest, purging fires are a necessary sacrifice. The Lunar announces a social project for the betterment of a territory she owns or a Dominion in which she holds legitimate authority. This may be anything from organizing the construction of a new manse, promoting the cause of her society in a foreign assembly, managing grain reserves during famine, etc. While this Charm is active she gain (Perception) automatic successes to detect or discern any intent or attempt to undermine her cause and half her Essence, rounding down, in automatic successes to eliminate that threat.

In Mandate of Heaven rules Self-Destructive acts the character undertakes on behalf of her Dominion gain (Perception) automatic successes, and reduce the Limit inflicted by half her Essence, rounded down.

I had this bookmarked for a while, and finally read it. Nice charms. Especially the first two.
