edicts about how these rules should work, people would still find holes to poke their fingers into.

The issue is that we don't need a perfect set of rules, just a set that any player can find heinous problems with and which breaks game balance by default.

I agree with Lankin. It would be nice to have rules we can only poke fingers in instead of the ones we can drive trucks through. (cough *unresisted hung spells and imbued items*)

Juuuuust sayin'

Any story hooks for higher power characters and speculation on ascension and the like?

Definitely discussion on higher-powered characters, not as much on ascension.

Not as much, huh? Now I'm intrigued. This may be quite useful after all.

Thanks. You're a sport, Matt.

I can't help but notice that the release date changed since the time I preordered it,  from sometime this November to May 1, 2010.

Yeah. Quite. The 'errata' raise at least as many problems as they solve.

Do not worry, valued customer. This is in full accordance with the official Amazon policy of making shit up.

Of course I suspect that, but it doesn't help that the WW Release Schedule doesn't show it as a November/December release either ;(

I would not be surprised to learn that it's been bumped, if you'll pardon my being something of a weasel there.

That's a very funny, yet a wholly accurate statement.

And too lazy to look 5 posts above, too XD.
Just kidding, you know. No ofense, right?

I think I´ll never get tired of seeing that piece of art. There is any remote posibility of having a mage book in full color? Ever?

Barnes and Noble site still gives this book due for November 11, and as a rule it is a much, more reliable source as release dates of RPG books go. Last-minute delays are always possible, though.

Is there any official word from White Wolf about the release date for the Chronicler's Guide?  Has it actually been bumped back to next year, or can we expect it in a couple of weeks?

I don't know if this was posted before but just found an extended blurb on a site:

"Mages can do almost anything. Their capacity to create, transform, preserve, and destroy is almost limited only by their imagination. What happens when that limitation is removed? What, ultimately, can a Mage chronicle be if it goes further and stranger than ever before? The answers lie within this new Chronicle Book for Mage: The Awakening, which gives a treatment of Mage as seen through the lens of seven different genres and includes alternate takes on using the magic system to represent entirely new sources of power, expanded information on character design, cabals, Paths, and orders, plus extensive advice and tools for building the perfect Mage chronicle, with numerous sample chronicles to utilize."
