On the 8th of this month, I broke the 1k+ mark with posts.
Right now, I'm only at 1.4k+ posts.

My goal is to get to 2k+ within the next couple of weeks.
Hopefully using meaningful posts.

After that... I be shooting for what ever number gets me back into the top 10.

In other threads, people have told me that I shouldn't worry about my post count... that I shouldn't really care... in all honestly I don't worry... and I only care... because it gives me something to post about... when bored...

Also... I want to see if I can get this thread alive... long enough... to be able to post in this thread... that I have reached my goal... without necro posting...

necro posting is actually quite good... it keeps people from making threads about the same thing...

There are a number of forums where necro posting is not only consider rude... but is a ban-able offense...

As long as it's relevant we don't mind :)

There are, however, plenty of threads best left dead and buried, with a new thread on the topic avoiding past flare ups.

There is something to keep in mind... a useful means of getting a high post count... is not letting a worthy thread get to the point that posting in it would be necro posting... but it is best to post something more than just *bump* or (+1)...  not that I'm adverse to others going *bump* or (+1)... I even may do that myself...

there are also forums where posting "hey, thanks for the link, it's a cool site" is considered spam and when you tell it isn't, they treat you like an idiot who doesn't know what they're saying...

and forums where posting about how you liked this and that in the episode that has just aired is rude because surprise surprise, "I haven't seen it yet" is not enough of a clue for a person to not look at the thread about the show... not my F-ing problem you went into a thread knowing full well what it's about...

or forums where telling a moderator they are wrong gets all his friends to mob you in return for How You Dare to Speak Against a Mod!

this is one of the few forums that actually has decent people being the regulars... it's why I can't get enough of it...

is OK.  I think most of us have had those exact same problems with other forums, and it's why I hang out here instead of at WotC.
I can kind of see one going "Okay, well, it was fun fighting you, but I think for this next story, I want to be your wacky sidekick. Do you mind if I wear this funny hat?" -- Tybar

I never got that either. I mean, if someone posted a link, and I liked it, why can't I thank them for posting the link?

I also never got why people used to get pissy if someone asked a question, and you posted in the thread saying you didn't know the answer, but good luck. I'd do that as a bump of sorts, so the thread had a chance of getting seen, but people would get all pissed off over that.
