So I keep a lot of records of what kinds of characters people like to play. My Exalted ones are notoriously extensive.  I have some for Scion I thought I would post, and I would like to see how your games come out.

There are 39 PCs here, from a pool of 18 players. 11 men, 7 women.
Of these PCs, 21 were created after Hero before Demigod, 10 after Manifestations of Ichor before CB, 3 after CB before Ragnarok, 4 after all books were out. So take that into consideration.

Pantheon Popularity first, then Parent. Ties are broken by first if the same person made two PCs from the same Pantheon/Parent it is ranked lower, then campaign characters are compared to one shot characters, then alphabetical.

Top 10 Pantheons
1. Aesir                            7
2. Dodekatheon                7
3. Pesedjet                        5
4. Atzlánti                          4
5. Celestial Bureaucracy     4
6. Amatsukami                   4
7.  Loa                               3
8. Deva                              3
9. Tuatha Dé Dannan          2
10.Rus                                0

Top 10 Divine Parents
1.Artemis              2
2.Bast                  2
3.Hephaestus        2
4.Odin                   2
5.Tezcatlipoca        2
6.Kali                     2
7.Izanami              2
8.Anubis                1
9.Baron Samedi     1
10.Damballa          1

Part of what I find interest here is the two most reviled PSP'd Pantheons are in the top two. Aesir being number one, with Jotenblut having far fewer defenders then Arete, though they are essentially even. OTOH, 3 of the 4 Pantheons most accessible/well known to the euro-types are the top three, with the later coming Tuatha being on the bottom pretty much.

As far as parents, well Odin and Tezcatlipoca are indeed represented here. Vishnu is not, but he is a latecomer, ditto Delling. They aren't exactly way ahead however.  While not listed, we have had 1 of Hel, Apollo, Zeus, and several other less endowed with favored gods, so its really not a terribly big gap.

OK lets talk about sex
Here are the sex of the PCs by Pantheon

Pantheon              Male    Female
Pesedjet                  2          3
Dodekatheon          3           4
Aesir                       4           3
Atzlánti                    3           1
Amatsukami             2           2
Loa                          2           1
Tuatha Dé Dannan    1           1
Celestial Bureaucracy4           0
Deva                         0           3
Rus                           0           0
                                 21        18

Nothing too surprising. Lets look at Player sex though

Pantheon                  Male      Female
Pesedjet                        3         2
Dodekatheon                 3         4
Aesir                              2        5
Atzlánti                           3        1
Amatsukami                    4        0
Loa                                 3        0
Tuatha Dé Dannan           1        1
Celestial Bureaucracy       4        0
Deva                                0        3
Rus                                  0        0
                                        23     16

1/3 of the ladies playing played an Aesir. Aesir+Dodekatheon make more then half the characters played by gals, which is not true overall, or even close with guys. Interestingly, no gals have gone for CBs, Amatsukami, or Loa yet, while no guys have gone for Devas.  This is doubly interesting as every major Loa representative (Brigitte, Marie, Amelia, Marinette, even the Loa ghost in Seeds of Tomorrow and the Loa in the fiction at the beginning of Secrets of the World) was female, with no major males outside villains (Siambi and Kalfu, and even then Mami Wata was female)

One more thing...how often do you think Players Scions are the same sex as their parent?

Male Parent/Male Scion          20
Female Parent/Female Scion    9
Male Parent/Female Scion       9
Female Parent/Male Scion       1

I thought this was really interesting. 29 of 39 are the same sex as their parents. Only one was a male Scion of a Goddess. Granted, the bulk of the parents were male, and the bulk of our players are too.

Where do you make your Scions from. Bear in mind all 18 of us are from the United States

United States of America  24
Mexico                              5
India                                  3
United Kingdom                 2
Canada                              1
People's Republic of China 1
Germany (East Germany)   1
Japan                                 1
Trinidad and Tobago          1

The Parentheses were where the country changed since the PC was born.
About what you would expect from a game with a bunch of Americans I guess.  I would like to point out I think that is the record for most PCs from Mexico ever with us.

Right, so thats what Pantheons and parents have proven most popular round here. Also a look at what folks are playing.  What have your games generally looked like?

IIRC, three people in our current game are Dodekatheon, while two are Tuatha Dé Dannan.  One Artemis, une Hephaestus, one Hermes, one Ogma, and one Mac Lir.  All are women characters except for the Mac Lir one.

In the game I run, two people are from the Amatsukami, one from Atzlánti (Parent is Hez), one from the American Pantheon, and the last one from the Dodekatheon.  One of the PC's is a female (One of the ones from the Amatsukami), the rest are male.

In the game I am running as Storyteller I have:

- 1 male member of the Loa
- 1 male member of the Devas
- 1 male member of the Manitou (specifically a South American jungle native, long story)
- 1 female member of the Aesir
- 1 male member of the Fallen ( A former member of the Abrahamic pantheon)
Can Truth be perceived or are our minds closed to it forever by our mortal failings? It is impossible to know, but the quest never ends and perhaps someday a flicker of these things will be perceived...

The current Band in my game is as follows:

-Two female Scions of the Tuatha Dé Danaan, one born in the Republic of Ireland, so other in USA (Aengus/The Morrigan)
-One female Dodekatheon born in USA (Hermes)
-One male Deva born in UK (Agni)

(3 of the players are from US, one from Norway)

Past members included:
-A female Aesir born in the USA (Hel)
-A female Amatsukami born in Japan (Amaterasu)
-A male Loa born in Haiti (Damballa)
-A male Atzlanti born in USA (Tezcatlipoca)

Of interesting note is the two Tuatha have been here since the beginning of the campain, making the Irish pantheon the easy winner of my games. Not that I complain.

All the players in the games are american, and all the characters were born in the US.

Interestingly though, even though we have 4 girls among the players, the chosen gods only have 1 female.

Dodec
1 female playing child of Apollo
1 male playing child of Dionysus
1 female palying child of athena
1 male playing child of hermes

Aesir
1 female playing child of heimdall
1 male playing child of Baldur
1 male playing child of loki

Loa
1 female playing child of baron samedi

Amatsukami
1 male playing scion of Hachiman
1 male playing scion of Raiden

Aztlanti
1 Female playing Scion of Huitzlipoctli

I had run 2 campaigns.

3 Dodekatheon
2 Amatsukami
1 Aztlanti
1 Loa
1 Aesir
3 Pesedjet
1 Tuatha
1 Deva
1 Celestial Bureacracy

Only reason why the Aesir was represented was because up till God, Loki was the only God with both Fire and Chaos as Purviews and before Ragnarok and Companion were out, Fire and Chaos were the rarest of all the Purviews (only 4 Pantheons have a single Fire god and only 5 have a single Chaos). The player had intended to play Odin until the other players discovered that none of them had Fire or Chaos as Purviews, so he bite the bullet to help the group out.

Hermes and Bast were the most represented with 2 Scions each. Athena, Hachiman and Ryujin had a Scion each. So did Quetzacoatl, Baron Samedi, Osiris, Lugh, Shiva and Chang Er. Shiva replaced Loki as Fire and Chaos with a better PSP to boot. IIRC it was a toss up between Chang Er and Uller because of their Frost Purview, but Chang Er won because of, you guessed it, PSP.

Most of the Scions had the same sex as their parents with Quetzacoatl, Hermes(1), Shiva and Chang Er with Scions of opposite sex. The characters were from all over, almost evenly split between US, UK and Asia.

Rainfall's early Wednesday game is pretty unremarkable. We've a guy playing a male Scion of Hades, a guy playing a male Scion of Zeus, a girl playing a female Scion of the Morrigan and a girl (me) playing a female Scion of Odin. So yeah, major Dodekatheon representation, with two of the major Gods there (though Carter hasn't shown up in a couple of weeks, so he might be out :/), and two pantheon heads (which leads to much antagonistic fun between Simon and Ashley). The only really remarkable thing is that three of the four of us are children of Gods of Death, though I don't know if that'll go anywhere (or if Ginger even has any Death).

John - Child of Erzulie
Elijah - Child of Loki
Rodriquez - Child of Xipe Tetoc
Angelique - Child of Baron Samedi
Martin - Child of Horus
Einid (NPC/ST's character) - Child of The Morrigan.

In our IRC game we have...

Ravi - Child of Lakshmi

Tama - Child of Amaterasu
Ignacio - Child of Huitzilopochtli

Currently inactive (IRC)
Gregory - Child of Odin
Jonh - Child of Artemis

So overall - 3 Loa, 2 Aesir, 2 Atzlanti, 1 Deva, 1 Dodekatheon, 1 Tuatha, 1 Amatsukami

A lot of interesting groups so far. Baron Samedi seems a big favorite with Loa players, who am I to be perplexed.

A lot less Pesedjet then I expected. Otherwise about on par.  Grendl's high (compared with other Pantheons) amount of Loa PCs is interesting.

Baron samedi is by far the most well known loa god.  For most people that hadnt studied voodoo to any degree, but still wanted to try the pantheon out I think baron would be the obvious choice.

True. Plus many things associated with "Voodoo" are also associated with him.

Baron Samedi's Purviews also help in his selection too. Darkness is uncommon and Health and Death Purviews are helpful.

Still running my first game.. 5 Characters- 4 players and storyteller character (me and a friend are planning on switching, he's gonna run an arc).
All male characters and players all players are from US

Scion of Oghma- Born in US, went to school in europe
Scion of The Morrigan- Born in Ireland
Scion of Thor-   Born in tennessee
Scion of Krsnik (my character)- Born in Belarus, Raised in Poland
Scion of Tsuki-Yomi (guy thats gonna run)-  Japanese American, not quite sure were he was born, Orphaned.

It started with just the first three Scions. To say the least games are a mix between Last Action Hero and Hong Kong Action Theather. This group can never run from a fight. We've been playing for about 5 months at least. In game time only about 17 days have passed, they never stop, ever. one session we did the math. The Scion of Tsuki-Yomi had to sleep once for 8 hours... the rest have yet to take even a nap.

As a Consensus the group has said if they were to make new fresh characters they all would probably play Dodekathon. They all like Arete.
I love the Rus. you wanna talk about a pantheon of Ass Kickers... Courage Valor and Endurance as virtues.

As a sidenote: If you ever need a Band of Scions for a Knock down drag out don't care about the odds We'll just throw the building at it combat support. Feel Free to Send me a PM. Address it to Brute Force c/o Myvek.
