After reading some of the other threads about this, especially the one where one of the developers said that "All things..." doesn't apply to a specific product, I'm thinking that it's simply either a general ad for WoD products or else for a series of historical settings for the different lines.  I'm leaning towards the former.

I don't mind whether there is a new NWoD game line or not.

I would be extremely happy if the NWoD were to continue at all.

Somehow, I have a bad feeling about that.

Eh don't buy into the doomsaying.  Honestly most of the "evidence" that people use to say that this is the end of the NWOD is usually local anecdotal evidence or has already been explained away.

NWoD will continue on for quite awhile...no need to worry about it.

I really hope you are right, but I am at a loss to understand the underlying principle of a business model which includes:

1) Being in no hurry at all to sell a new book in your own online store (referring to Wicked Dead, of course). It might take two minutes to transfer it from future release to available product, though.

2) Not telling your customers about what you are doing, what you plan to publish, when the next book will come, such things.

For a foreign NWOD aficionado who has a hard time understanding spoken English (especially spoken by Scottish, Irish or American people), even the blogcasts are out as a source of information. The only thing you have is: nothing.

As completely uninformed person, I am expecting one of two outcomes: 1st, the NWoD is finished. 2nd, the much preferable alternative, is: an absolute killer of a product or product line is in the works, making up for months on end without new books.

I have to admit that I too find it somewhat strange that they are "still having problems with the store software" after, what, at least few weeks? Is WW staff still in control of its own online store at all or... the e-store controls WW staff and its already too late to do anything about that (hint: plot hook :)?

Well, they certainly have the right to keep that kind of information secret for a time being, but I wouldn't mind if someone told us from time to time whether the release date found on Amazon.com is true or total BS.

Not likely. I'm sure they wouldn't want nWoD to end with a whimper.

I just hope that they won't go too far with the "Even-Higher-Than-The-Top Secret" approach because every method, especially one taken to the extreme, can backfire really badly.

Place: any FLGS. Time: Summer 2010.

A: Have you heard about X: the Something?
B: No.
A: How is that possible!? It's probably the coolest nWoD line EVER!
B: Was there an ad in the back of Geist a year ago?
A: Sort of... but at that time it was impossible to decipher it.
B: Were there any previews in Epitaph or on the official site?
A: No. It was a secret project.
B: Did it get its own official subsite and a forum?
A. No! I told you already: it was a SECRET project! But enough of that, see for yourself how cool it is!
B (looks through the book): Yeah, its cool alright, but, because I didn't know it was coming, I've already bought other nWoD books, therefore I don't have the cash to buy X: the Something.
WW staff: Bummer...

One thing is for sure: nothing is for sure.

Yes, is good to hear that (even knowing that it does not make sense to have a new new WoD right now). This is inside information? Do you know something we dont? Are you talking about a new game line or a new "big thing" within the WoD?

Personally instead of a new Monster: the Something core book and 5 or so support books.

I would like to see a setting books, How to mod the rules/skills to that time point, general gear etc, and some views for the Core Supernatural types and how they view the work at that time. Basically Requiem for Rome - but not just for one type of creature (bigger strokes).

WOD: The Darkages
WOD: The Victorian Era
WOD: The Roaring 20's
WOD: The Cold War
WOD: Future Imperfect

One other Idea I had was doing Anniversery Editions/Updates to the Classic WoD, (before you stone me hear me out). Taking Each CORE (and Core only) book and doing a One off Update to the setting and rules. By update I mean taking a Ultimates* approach  to it, a slick update with some new twists so that it's still V:tM (etc) without making it something totally different. Rules update using the current WoD core book and rules. (okay finished you can stone me now :p )

Oh sweet Lord yes!

I want V:tM, W:tA and C:tD to get this treatment. Yes, yes... I know perfectly well that I can do the fluff conversions on my own, but that can be said about anything to the point that the entire world of RPGs can run off of one 12-page pamphlet of rules with everyone just homebrewing settings.

My bets are still on Demon, an Angel/Mummy mix, or Tulpa/Dreamborn/Psychic.

You know, I have zero interested in reviving oWoD stuff. But if I were a decision maker at WW I'd consider your idea.

Of course, only as an anniversary edition possibility, a one-off product, so not to send the wrong message to the fans. As I always say, I'm pretty sure that if the setting was actually revived the hardcore oWoD fans would be the first to complain as soon as "new old WoD" books were released. Wishful thinking is one thing, execution is another.

Nah, I don;t have any inside info(tho I wish I did sometimes). I'm just speculating I suppose...The WoD has been around for awhile, and NWoD has gone on without a new edition for quite some time now. I'd think if WW was doing something "new" with it(as in new editions or something) they'd have done it before now..

Of course, I don't have anything to go on really, so I'm just guessing...
