Angelic beings?

I hope so!

Otherwise, maybe something to do with one of the mage-ly realms since they already have expanded arcadia and the underworld.

I really really doubt it.

What about aliens? I've also wondered if space has a shadow?

I think an Angels and Aliens book could be the same thing - inscrutable beings from an "outer reality" descending and either abducting, advising, scaring mortals... They just have different methods of doing so - some appear in blinding light with wings, others use high-tech machinery (UFOs, probes) etc.

I wonder what the name could be though. Aliens: The Probing wouldn't be all that appropriate ahaha.

its where most of the major splats that aren't the main 3 are referenced.

like which ones?

I take it from the reviews so far that there was nothing written in the pre-release books at the back (not to say there wont be on the actual release)

Promethians are referenced (although, not as "Promethean") amongst Chapter 1: The living dead known as "the imbued"
Geists are kind of referenced in that chapter as well as "intruders" (ghosts possessing bodies that are not their own)
Hunters are referenced with kind of proto-conspiracies in chapter 2. even slashers are given a paragraph in it.
Chapter 3 covers cults (possibly demons too, although its not as obvious as the others)
Chapter 4 covers all kinds of things from eldritch horrors like ghouls and the moth man, to the posessed. its full of monsters that dont fit elsewhere.

it was the best wod core book for running blu book hunters when vampire and werewolf came out.

Just imagine having to go through the whole "Two Arcadias" debate four more times.

Blah, the argument is moot.
Even as a single Arcadia the point is not going to make or break anyone.
If I as a epoch old wizard place a Watchtower at a location roughly equal to the Washington monument with a nice safe garden around it and offer such as "Arcadia" while the Gentry pull people through to Alpha Centauri to a nice pressurized dome Arcology, does it even matter if they are in the same universe?
Its like trying to argue that the existence of Whitewater State Park near Elba, Minnesota somehow adversely impacts someone's life in the Australian outback.
It simply doesn't make much sense.

Of course I really do want a "NOUN the VERBING" book detailing some semi-generic process for creating my own ideas based upon a predefined formula.
Maybe in time such a limited line of such books could be offered with a nice running concept inside showing the process as offered in action.
Its a dream I've pretty much wasted my time sharing here, but still, it is a dream of mine.

I believe someone did do what you stated (fan-made, of course).

Are you certain?
I'm looking for a GURPS-style book offering guidelines/template complete with design work essays to assist in creating my own actual game setting "splat" tailored to my needs rather than relying upon White Wolf decides FOR ME are my needs in the game.

You know, thinking about it. If White Wolf did that, wouldn't they effectively be taking themselves out of the loop? If you could create your game lines, rules and splts, what would you need them for?

I'm not saying I wouldn't love to see such a book, like a big tool kit for creating anything. But on the other hand, what your asking for would take them out of the loop, and they are in the business to make money, and money means making games themselves.

Right?

I know not everyone would get use out of such a book, but really, the people who can make their own game lines and rules such already do that without the need for a book like that.

While I don't see White Wolf creating a GURPS style generic RPG system anytime soon, creating such a system wouldn't really be shooting themselves in the foot.  Generic systems like GURPS and HERO System sell a great deal of their various genre and supplementary books.  Most people don't want to put in the work required to write their own settings.  The biggest problem with generic systems is that, at best, they are only ever going to handle a couple of different genres well, and the rest they can handle passably.

What would such a Word of Darkness toolkit really offer that isn't already available?  We already have a wealth of examples for different kinds of mechanics that plug into the core conflict resolution system.  I suppose putting examples of all those various mechanics, divorced from their fluff, in one book would be helpful, but how well would such a book sell?  I would love such a book, but I love thinking about game mechanics and I am a huge RPG collector/nerd.  Most gamers wouldn't get much use out of a book like this.  I don't see it likely to appear as anything except a fan made PDF.

My hope is not for a new splat, at least not now. Rather a limited five book line, detailing different historical eras, with background etc. for each. Ideally one book for each era. Problably not going to happen, but it would be so cool.

I'd love to have a game dealing with Mad Scientists. Or Demon might be good, possibly from a Faustian angle?
