Our group has run into this before. Personally, I think it's just a very poorly written Dramatic Failure result. A Dramatic Failure should never offer useful results, because it specifically ends up with this conundrum at its end. Either Cachexy should specifically be allowed to remove disease, or that particular write-up of the power should be

[quote user="MKerwin"]I would interpret seduction-related UMI not as 'I can feel that he is using magic to control my mind and make me seduced!' but as '...wow. *stare* There's no way it's humanly possible to be that sexy...' That is, it works like other UMI in that it's obvious in a sense, but people don't

I think there's a high horse here that needs to be got off of. The whole issue with racism, sexism, what have you, is not defined by the speaker. That's sort of the problem. If you find that most Hispanics, for instance, find the term "Wetback" racist, you don't get to define it. It doesn't matter what you think it means or

Okay, so, I submit the following: The Forsaken Life Engine - a Void Circle Spell - requires 100 humans to be fed into a horrible blender and have their souls consumed. This means that 100 people dying under normal circumstances certainly won't, and given that this is a Void Circle Spell, we have to assume it is significantly simpler and more reliable

I should think custom demon races or 2nd Circle Souls would be the closest they can come? Although who knows. It's not like being a Yozi makes it impossible for you to learn Craft (Genesis) or whatever on a titanic scale. I thought was all part of them losing their capacity to create.

I think we're all pretty well in agreement here. Still, remember you are talking about a hyper-specific situation here. Point-blank range is extremely close to the shooter. If combat starts at Point Blank or Short range, close to Point Blank, I see what you mean. But I mean, if I have to cross 30 yards to get to Point Blank, that's an entire

Yeah, The Black and White Treatise seems to indicate that hekatonkhires are somewhere from 2nd to 3rd Circle demon levels, although I'd hesitate to make any of them fetich-level creatures. As a reminder, the Infinite Prison is an hekatonkhire, I believe. So I mean, there seems to be an intentional degree of variance there. Hekatonkhire appear to

It isn't terribly attractive to charge in, though. I mean, if I'm at medium range (-2) and I have cover (which is easier further than closer), I'm actually managing better off than I would closer up. Charging in at Defense 2 (which, again, is average) deprives me of Defense while running. If I get further away, however, I can enjoy the benefits

His name was Robe... I mean, soulsteel doesn't need a keyword.

Range seems like one of the easier things to stunt the reestablishment of surprise on. At least that's how we've always run it. Also presumably Stealth Charms would do it? I guess? I mean, so far we don't have a lot of examples of surprise Charms, and ones we do have (in Even Blade or Abyssal Melee) are generally regarded as broken already
