So long as you're using a lot of native Lunar Knacks and Charms, it goes from mediocre to fairly good (and the pinnacle, if you can regenerate a health level a turn, is quite nice).

Once you've mastered the principles of sorcery, you can also create your own spells, though this takes a lot more training time. If you're willing to blow over three hundred hours on a spell, you can reverse-engineer a spell and learn it without a tome. This represents your character creating an entirely new, but thematically and mechanically
