The fact that you actually have to be attacked in order to use it is a rather large balancing factor on the charm, actually. Crane stylists are great defensively, but their abilities fall apart if you have an opponent that doesn't play along.

Well, a lot of material was cut from the book for space concerns, so I don't think it's too farfetched that other Yozis had charm branches that required their excellency as a pre-req. Other than that, I think it makes sense that some (read: very few) of the charm branches each Yozi has should branch from their excellency, making them slightly

It's certainly a shame I didn't notice this thread before you'd garnered more interest. In the event that you wind up with people dropping out, I'd certainly be interested in a tuesday (or even wednesday, if it swings back that way) game of sidereals. I've been tossing around an idea for a young sidereal shoehorned into her predecessor's
I'm not equating myself with Autochton quite the contrary I am saying he is so much beyond me that if even a human can figure this out it should be pretty common sense to him.
No, you missed my point. You're assuming that titans think along the same lines that humans do, but Infernals gave us some evidence
The thing is I wouldnt be so stupid as to make that mistake so neither should Autochton.
Equating yourself, a human, with autocthon, a titan, is a pretty bad basis for reasoning.
I love this post. Mostly cause I have been wondering about Autochtons logic in creating sentient
Gods have jobs according to their portfolios. But demons and elementals are not so restricted in their nature. Besides, gods CAN learn to surpass their natural purview, most just can't be bothered to.
Demons and elementals have their powers based in their nature, rather than jobs. They're naturally

Mostly it's because spirits are tasked based, gifted with power so they can do their jobs and maintain their portfolios. This is all something of a moot point, however, because their powers are almost all completely innate and because they don't ever have to work for any of their native charms.
It's weird because there is never a situation where a normal attack will do its weapon damage + str.
Well, it isn't quite a normal attack, but that would happen if someone used a perfect attack charm which can hit with zero successes. I suppose the presence of this rule serves to keep hitting with

The difference is that, unless I'm really misremembering something, wyld-shaping requires your constant presence and effort. It also requires you to venture out into the wyld and make your base there . . . which isn't very helpful if you'd like to be based in the scavenger land. By comparison, dune-drowned oasis can be activated anywhere

To be fair, the upgrade that cecelyne does have to her PD doesn't remove it's limitation so much as invert it. Rather than dematerialize herself, she dematerializes the other guy. Either way, the sand motif seems to be a thematic limitation in her charms outside of the flaw of invulnerability, so while you can probably make an upgrade that doesn't
