• Re: World of Darkness: Mirrors

If the Amazon blurb is accurate, this book is on my top to-buy list when released. I like the nWoD system, and a book that helps me get more out of it without having to retool it painstakingly all myself will be a godsend.

Given just how exceedingly niche bloodlines are, it's difficult at -best- to please a wide audience with a single entry. I've seen plenty of Bloodlines published or otherwise, that have had great writing and plenty of work put into them. It doesn't mean I use them, acknowledge their existence in a chronicle I run or even -like- them, however

  • Re: nWoD Tzimisce Equivalent?

Nothing too direct. The whole Eastern European Fleschcrafter aspect isn't really ported into nWoD. That said, however, the cruel alien nobility aspect (not so much tied into Bloodlines, but part of the clan the game uses material from) is easily mirrored in Ventrue. It's easy enough if necessary to develop that into a bloodline. Honestly, I'd

There are a couple of bloodlines in there I don't mind. The vast majority are truly god awful in either presentation, or mechanics however. That these got approved en masse really makes me shake my head. Severe jumping through hoops for some decent, or even well presented published bloodlines to take, and -these- home brews are considered allright
What you're seeing here are different facets of a clan/covenant as they can be interpreted by the individual storytellers and by individual characters (with respect to the way they fit into a setting)...
Eh, it's honestly less that, and more of changes between editions. The "ooogah boogah"
Even if you do buy into it, there's rather a lot more to that story than "he just spontaneously appeared." To avoid derailing the topic, though, I'm also going with the "vampires are 5 distinct mosters that happen to have similarities" model. Not that there will ever be any proof, or that

  • Re: The Paranormal

I do think a good majority of crop circles are hoaxes, -but- not all of them. Given an uncles own experiences regarding them (he's a farmer) and what he saw, my provinces agricultural info regarding the phenomenon, looking over a very small one myself and other things even stranger, yet related, just people? Nah. Crop -braiding- is where it gets
  • Re: The bloodline game

The Khagan Parent Clan : Ventrue The Ventrue have always referred to themselves as "lords" of one stripe of another, always at the forefront, the rightful rulers, the uncompromising winners who'd never bow in defeat to other undead given the luxury of time. They also have a reputation for degeneracy, however, and some would say complacency

  • Re: Alternative Clan Weaknesses

I've honestly considered changing the Gangrel weakness to a -2 or -3 Penalty to Frenzy rolls. The current one -is- a big thorn in the side of many players I deal with (and in turn, their popularity drops pretty badly). It makes more sense to me that if the Beast supposedly has a stronger impact/influence on their minds, it's more likely to influence

  • Re: Vampire Novels

I've always liked (most, though not all) of the Necroscope series and it's spin offs, particularly the 1st book quite a lot. If anything for how... different the vampires are despite still playing to some pop-culture and standard mythological weaknesses such as sunlight, garlic, and silver. Very nicely alien (and not emotionally, we're talking
