Unless the halfcaste only inbred amongst themselves, you're likely going to end up something similar to the Lintha. Any breeding with a normal person would likely thin out the blood too much. Its possible that some very secular and secluded lunar beastmen colonies might have stabalized as true breeding halfcaste, but such is likely rare. The alternative

I would not classify the maggots as a normal disease. They're immense parasites fattening themselves up on its nigh immortal corpse. The healing charms would perhaps heal a large cut or sore upon it, but it would not cure the whole being. 10/20 health levels cured on a creature of that nature is kinda like a drop in the bucket.

Part of it with Alchemicals (i'm guessing) is you're able to input more fluff into it because, despite being attribute driven, their abilities aren't tied down to natural phenomenon and you're able to give it standard sci-fi/steampunk themes.
